We are racing this weekend 6/30/07 with registration from 3:30pm – 4:30pm, race ASAP. We will be racing on July 4th for our annual American Eagle race also.

Our American Eagle race on the 4th of July has registration from 11:00am – 12:00pm, race ASAP. There will be a carnival in the park that day and if anyone is interested you are welcome to stay for the fireworks that night.

Anyone interested in staying for the fireworks please pm me so I can add your name to the list, the fireworks are set off right behind the track area (best seat in the house).

As with any race, everything is weather permitting.

….. Which is b.s. they charge that much money and for what. Especially to charge a $15 late fee if you wanna register the day before the event. They must really be loving the high class rooms they stay at when they get to travel the country at no cost just to act important.

Nobody forced you to go, you knew the price and the extra charge before you went, so there is no reason to complain.

barring Mike King, have any of these usac or uci officials ever raced BMX bikes?
Ah, who cares, apparently racers just follow this stuff around like it’s the greatest thing in the world.
racing is so confusing for those expensive number plates.

Grant it the number plate and the jersey are just eye candy, but how can you take a thread about kids who are just trying to have fun and putting there heart into a race and turn it into a sanction bashing thread.

I know with us that qualifing for the worlds was all we had in mind when we went to this race, as I would be sure that everyone else had the same intentions. My son made the decision to try and go the worlds this year because he wanted to be able to say “hey I did that”, not because of some “expensive number plate”.

I just want to show you what this race was all about for a couple of the riders that attended…..

    Notice the smiles…….

Congratulations also to Neva Warren who finished first in the 9 girls class.

Danny Smith was also in attendance and was racing hard on Saturday. He was looking good in his moto’s. I do believe he made it to his semi and ran into some bad luck.

Mac – I stand corrected. I saw him ride his cruiser in the ProAm and he was in cruiser with Chris Whiley, so that’s when I paid attention. I was not aware he ALSO rode class that day. Wow. Good for him. Still, I was not bagging on him, just stating what I saw.

Ok, I am going to start here with this part first. Jeremy only races cruiser, he doesn’t race 20″, but cruiser is still considered a class (not being mean, just trying to explain). With having semi’s in the Open on Sunday, he asked if me if he needed to go hard every round in class and I told him he could just coast around if he wanted.

That leads into my next point. I did not realize that the class that Dave raced in was going to have two guys not show up at the gate or I would have seen what we could have done to help him. In no way should Dave feel bad for bringing this up, it stinks when you ride around a track alone. When someone signs up to race the open they must sign up for class (am’s), so if they decide to not show up for class what can you really do. Even if they had to go up to the gate, they would have just coasted around the track and probally wouldn’t have raced or just pull off the gate. So your back to having one rider going hard and two riders just coasting. At the next qualifier in Flemington we will have to have a meeting for the guys in the Open and let them know that they need to atleast get up on the gate. We cant force them to race the class hard, that is there decision.

When the Pro/Am was being put together it was to help keep the older riders involved in the sport and in the State series. It was also made into a series to have the riders race more than just one race here and one race there, if they want to earn some of the year end purse then they needed to stay involved in the series. The racing so far in the 3 races has been great and it gives the younger riders a chance to see some great racing and to allow them to see what training and practicing can do for them when they get older. There are certain things that we will be looking to change for next year and will get the riders together at the end of the year and get there ideas. But if you look at the riders who have been doing the opens, how many would be racing the State series if it wasn’t for the open? Look at some of the riders who could be qualified for NJ in December.

There are certain rules that we have to abide by, but maybe at the next state meeting we can find a way to tweak them a little. But for now we have to follow the rules that are in place. Everyone needs to stop blaming people and try and figure out a way to make it better.

    Just my 2 cents

You could do the plaque that Brett is talking about for the “young ladies” rider of the year and maybe do a T-shirt for the rider of the month. How much could a T-shirt cost?

Get some riders together to vote on who would get rider of the year (young ladies) and rider of the month. Come up with some criteria for the voting.

    Just a thought

We would like to thank all the riders who raced in the Hyper Pro/Am series this weekend at Trilogy Park. The racing was exciting with riders like Kelty, Farside, Knapper, Smith, Moore and even coming up from Maryland for Sunday was Phil Donnell. With the Caveman rocking the mic and the tunes, everyone was riveted to the great racing.

We would like to thank once again all the sponsors who help make this series happen – Hyper Bicycles, Intense BMX, MCS Bicycles, Chip N Dale BMX, GHP/Atomlab Northeast, Pine Forge Drafting and Craig Wilson from Starwin Mortage.

Look for a complete write up on Broken Spokes and on New Jersey BMX

i’m actually pretty unhappy about the whole thing sunday– i’m so glad i faught traffic an hour and a half both ways and spent $20 to roll around the track alone three times. and i didn’t even do that, cause i felt bad for the motos behind me that had to wait, so i cut the track.

it’s nobodys fault, the computer doesn’t know that two of three guys are just signing up for class because they have to– it’s just a flawed system, and one more reason we have to work towards change for next season.

as for the rest of this season, i’m gonna see if i can get bumped to 30-34 — i’ll end the season there anyway, and this way i know i’ll have a class

    dave

When you get to the next qualifier Dave, ask the guys in the 30-34 class if they would mind being combined together, I am sure that they wouldnt have a problem with it. Then you would have to go to registration and make sure they will combine your classes together, once again I don’t think there would be a problem.

I didn’t realize that the other two riders were just going to race the open or I would have found out about combining your class on Sunday….Sorry.

Dave is great on the mic, and Mr. Eisenhard was able to get the new State sound system hooked up to our tracks PA system. Everything sounded great.
