I mentioned that it sorta just makes sense to have them either at Incline or someplace close to that area in Central NJ…
because…
well…
if you look at NJ and see where the center of it is on a map, well, you are pretty smart guys and gals you can figure it out.
The person I was b.s.ing with said, well yea, CJ is central to you…but not to them…
I said to myself huh?
CJ is close to me, but if I lived in let’s say NNJ or SNJ, I’d rather travel to someplace central to all and convenient to a few than all the way north or all the way south so that it is convenient to a few and completely inconveniant for everyone else.Well as Rodney Dangerfield used to say ” can’t get no respect”…..even though we are not “in” NJ, try and remember we are still part of the NJ scence…. —
tpbmxtdMemberHis name is Phares Parson….the funniest thing that I saw was when he came around the 2nd turn and started heading toward the pro section and stopped himself right before the first jump. But he is a super nice guy and great to see him out there at his age. He has been racing for the last 23 years.
tpbmxtdMemberJeff Sr. was looking real good in his moto’s. I did not get a chance to see his main. There is a rumor that he is looking into a regular cruiser, if the rumor is correct then look out.
tpbmxtdMemberRich and myself have been holding off on posting anything until we were able to get a few things worked out, but we want to let everyone know that we are working on a couple of things and need everyone to be patient.
When Dave P (poohbear) first brought up this topic in the beginning of the season, we thought this could be something great. We sat down and figured out all the rules, points and worked on sponsors. We were very happy when Clay from Hyper decided to be the title sponsor for this series and we were able to get a great group of race sponsors to help out in this series.
We then brought everything to the State Commish and he, and others, thought this could be a great thing. As with anything new, there are a few bugs to be worked out and we told all the racers on the first Pro/Am race that at the end of the season we want to get all there input on what worked and what they would like to see different. To us this is there series and they should all have input into it. We do understand that there is going to be things that need to be discussed and worked out, but we need to get thru the end of the series before we start getting ahead of ourselves.
We had the chance to sit back at a few of the Pro/Am races and watch and when you see people lining up on the fences and little kids saying “this is great”, its a great feeling to see and hear. To see the olders racers with a renewed spirit in running the State Series and in hanging around the sport is great to see. We are able to allow the younger riders to see what kind of talent the older riders have, instead of just watching them practice and leave.
We would like to thank all the sponsors and riders who have embraced this series and we cant wait to start working on bigger and better things for the 2008 season, but we still need to finish the 2007 season first.
Hope to see everyone down at EHT in September for the last State & Pro/Am qualifier. We will post any updates when they are available.

Anthony, don’t count out the youngest rider just yet.
tpbmxtdMemberThis is such a great way to promote your local track if you can get involved with the bike rodeo’s. We have been involved with our local bike rodeo for the past 2 years (only the 2nd year for the rodeo) and we have been able to pick up new riders from it.
The kids from the track have been involved with doing assemblies at our local Elem. schools, during the assemblies this year they handed out the flyers and showed the promotional video to 5 different schools. Along with helping during the bike rodeo, we have been able to promote BMX to kids who might not have known about the sport of BMX.
In helping with the local police department on the bike rodeo we have been able to get promotional literature in to the local schools, where we might have had some problems otherwise. There is nothing but good that can come out of helping in the community and with the local programs. It will do wonders for your tracks image in the local officals eyes and it just makes sense. For the past 4 years we have had a 4th of July race that we donate the race fee’s to a local organization. This year we donated a Police bike to our police departments bicycle patrol. We have recieved not only press coverage but have also been topic of conversation in the Borough meetings.
Sorry about the long ramble, but I wanted to let everyone know that it is such a great benefit to get involved in the bike rodeo’s and any kind of community projects that will help make your track known.

And everyone better listen up on this.
Yea, sure it gives the older guys a reason to stick around, it’s fun, looks cool…all the stuff we know already.
But here is where it matters. When Cave was putting on the music for the main, these 3 little dudes roll up next to me near the starting hill. Everytime Cave would crank the music, these kids would start bopping about and getting all into it.
This was one of the main reasons when we pushed to get the Pro/Am series going. We knew it would be good for the older riders, but it would give the younger riders a chance to see some good racing and know that if they stick with the sport and train that they could one day be out there.
The results so far from the Pro/Am series has been great. The racing has been great and the sportsmanship these guys show should be an example for all the younger riders. From the youngest rider, Jeremy Knapper, to the oldest, Rich Farside, everyone of them have been great.
And when Dave announces the Pro/Am he makes you feel like your at the biggest race of the year. Thanks….
tpbmxtdMemberIt was our pleasure…..
We were able to dodge the rain bullet and get the race in.
Hope to see you and your family down again.
