The chandler track pic…..now thats a BMX track.
Oh, and by the way, i agree with RH about not having enough people to help out at the tracks which is a reason to pave the turns, lot less maintenance….but, we have people in this state practically screaming for a chance at helping/running a track.
Im pretty sure that if those people were put in a position to make a difference we would see the tracks get the love they need (hopefully with paved parking lots, and not turns)
TenaciousDMemberThats what im talking about….right above…
Pistol Pete and Rupe going for it on dirt with…WHAT ? wait a second….he has a foot off in the turn !!!
OH MY GOD !!!!
thats just sooo wrong….we have to pave that friggen turn right away !
TenaciousDMemberDirt turns…..don’t get me f***** started.
The only pavement at a track should be for the parking lot.
Since paved turns is “progression”, would everyone showing up in full spandex body suits with aerodynamic shaped helmets on BMX tracks also be classified as progression ? I think not.
At a certain point the MX in BMX starts to disappear.
Take notice of some of these tracks, look how much pavement they are starting to use. It used to be just the turns, now on some tracks there is pavement like 4 feet before and after the turns.
ARRRGH…. JUST KEEP IT DIRT !
TenaciousDMemberOnly goal i had since i’ve come back is not to fall. Which i have accomplished up to this point.
Now that i wrote about it though im probably take a digger the next time im on the track.
TenaciousDMemberDave, you have to ride everyday to get to work… 😆
TenaciousDMemberMaybe all this drama is the catalyst for the NBL to have a code of conduct for the officials.
Im sure there are a few on here that can give Bob a call….
TenaciousDMemberI hope this comment im about to make does not take this thread into another direction…
How about every track in the country have the same physical gate ?
Let the NBL tighten up their rules a little.
One track has plates (where your wheel rests) that is like 2 feet tall !
The other a foot high, to me it just does not make sense. But, then again, im anal like that….
TenaciousDMemberHow about tubeless tires ?
They got em for mountainbikes, why not BMX ?
TenaciousDMemberCome to think of it.
One thing id like to see is have all of these companies that make all of these various parts use allen bolts, and nuts that can be purchased at Home Cheapo or a local hardware store.
I have a pair of Easton Cully flats that are virtually useless because the one nut that holds the pedal to the shaft is stripped and it is an oddball size…can’t find it ANYWHERE. Now i have to get it from Easton or by the grace of god, maybe…just maybe a bike shop will have one.
TenaciousDMemberI am being serious…Disc brakes. No, they dont suck. I have em on my mountainbike and will never go to anything else.
I already have ideas of how to implement on a wheel that isint set in one place.
TenaciousDMemberDisc brakes for BMX bikes.
TenaciousDMemberIs it possible for someone to e mail me a copy of the latest state points ?
I have joined the site where the state points are listed but the person validating e mail addresses has still not accepted my account info so i cant log in to see the points…..this is even after i have talked face to face with the person, asking to look my e mail up and to let me in.
my e mail is: DM0307@optonline.net
Thanks.
TenaciousDMemberYes, BMX is a dash….the politics behind it though is obviously a marathon….unfortunately
TenaciousDMemberKnown Dave since what, i think 1993 ? give or take a year or two.
This weekend i spent more time with him then i ever have since i’ve known him. (gave him a ride to EHT, then halfway home from CNJ on Sunday)
Now, i’ve seen him put a few down, but didnt see anything way out the ordinary.
Heck, he even camled me down when i had a bout of road rage with a Porshe on Sunday !! 👿
I have only been back into this deal since the beginning of August and all i have been seeing/hearing is somehting that belongs on tv at 1pm on a weekday (get it, a soap ?)
This is totally just my opinion but all who are so passionate about the state of NJBMX just need to take a little break, go and get some fresh air, recharge the batteries, (a week, a month..whatever works) try to look at things a little differently instead of constantly going against the tide, that type of mental strain will F you up after a while.
All of what pisses so many of you off can be changed and will….in time. But i think items of concern that ya’ll want to solve need to be looked at like a marathon, not a 100 yard dash.
I must say though, it is nice to see people so worked up over things and have the desire for change.
TenaciousDMemberDidnt race it, just practiced with it.
Liked it, definately puts an added twist to things. -
