most tracks don’t have it because it is hard to maintain, but it is good when done right.
sickryder83MemberQuarry dust works very well. But it takes a ton of work to do it the right way. When it breaks down, it needs to be completely stripped, and an entire new layer needs to be put down after. You have to strip it, soak the ground, layer new, soak it, tamp it, then soak and tamp again. It’s not fun haha. My dad, Mr clampka, and a few others used to do this multiple times a season. I know this, because I helped them do this. If it is done the right way that stuff can be as hard as concrete. Also, it makes it so that you can ride it right after a rainstorm. After the qp was taken off the track would turn to mud after it rained….I don’t agree with the fact that they don’t wish to make alterations to the jumps though. There are a few things on that track that need to be changed. I would be willing to help do it. I guess i’ll just bite my toung though.
sickryder83Memberso i guess this means that hyper is the main sponsor again?
sickryder83Memberi think its deff a good thing to have at the race. let me know if you need any help.
sickryder83Memberhaha cut me a break. i was running on three hours of sleep.
sickryder83MemberI’m want to make a track at my house in the spring. I have six straights laid out. I want two rythem sections one real deep one shallow (pottstown style).all dirt turns. wide enough for two person races. a pro set with a thirty foot double into a pit then a thirty out. its on the side of a hill so it will be real high speed. can’t wait.
sickryder83Memberit would be a better idea to have the riders parent attend the meeting rather than the young rider.. the vibe that i’ve gotten from these meetings is that it is not a place for a kid to be . haha also i think that the only way this could work would be if you went to the meeting with people who say that they will run it. if you go and just pitch the idea to them they will brush it off. if you say you will run it they will put more merit behind the idea. the more prepared you are before you go the better chance you’ll have. these people would also have to have a written plan, rules, awards, point system, exc…
sickryder83MemberAs much as i don’t like the fact that i had to race class to race the open, i understand why. This is a business. The tracks don’t make money off of the opens. If everybody raced open and people stopped racing class there would be less money going into the tracks………..Also i think that by having the age restriction on the open, it gives the kids something to look foward to. From what i have heard, there is a lot of work that goes alog with running these open races. Farside and Knapper did a lot of work to get this open operational. Are there parents out there that would be up for this responsibility?
sickryder83Memberwhen i’m back from FL in the spring i’ll deff be up at the trails to ride with you.
sickryder83Membersomeone fell in every race i was in. motos semi main and all. the racing was intense. the track was tight and technical. it was a fun race though.
