Sorry for that, it must have been something I ate. I didn’t even ask Brett which rule is stupid. Is it that they won’t combine motos, or that ams need to race class to race open. By the way craig, we had Jeremy in his class on the moto sheet on Sat and he went 1-1-1 he also went 1-1-1 on sun in class. If these 2 riders did the same thing and went 1-1-1 and 2-2-2 there wouldn’t be a problem. there really isn’t a comparason there. sorry

Ok, this may not be the thread to do this but I will anyway. Sinse this site has been up and running one of the common rants (besides clips) is sandbagging. Everyone agrees that it is not in the best interest of the sport to do this. If there is a teenage novice that puts his brakes on in a main so he doesn’t get moveup points, then he is deemed to have CHEATED and the rules state that he should be stripped of any points and given the moveup points anyway. Fair, right? Yet this very thing happens in NJ all the time and no track director(the person with the athority to enforce the rules) does anything about it. I don’t hear anyone saying that the rules should be changed for the kid who now has to accept the moveup points. No, instead we say that sandbagging should stop. Not racing your class to gain an advantage is also a form of sandbagging. Why is there a call to change the rules in this case? I hope you are not telling me that the 2 racers that sandbagged and by the way ruined the race for other riders made their chances of winning MONEY any better? The last time I checked there are a lot of people that race 2 classes all the time with no problem. It sounds like these 2 riders were not there for the fun of cometition but there to win money. So what about what that tell your rookie riders? Hey I don’t have to follow any rules. I’ll just cheat if it gives me a better chance to win money. This sounds like just the thing this site would want to stop, or maybe it isn’t interested in that sort of thing. Lets just change the rules just to aggitate the powers that be.(or not be in this case). Well, that is just plain baloney.

The real call should have been how these 2 greedy riders ruined the day of a fellow rider for their own benefit, without regard for the sport.

you all can kill me now.

O.K. let’s try it again. Jeremy Knapper raced class in all 3 state qualifiers, raced open in all 3 races also. Last time I checked he was in the money all three races. What fair?Plus WHAT DOES THIS ARGUMENT have to do with what happened? maybe I missed something.

I’m going to inject a little logic here so beware. 3 riders sign up to race class. 2 o0f the 3 are there just to race the open so they dont even touch the gate. The 3rd rider is screwed. Have I gotten the story so far?

The first response to this is to see if the screwed rider can combine into a different class, correct? Obviously, that wont work.

OK – here comes the logic……

MAKE THYE OTHER 2 RIDERS COMPETE. Notice I did not say touch the gate or pump race or any other crappy way of getting around the rules. If someone is entered in a moto and purposely loses, that is sandbagging. Enforce the rules. Do not make a guy attemt to change motos, that does not solve the problem.

Remember, there were other riders that had to race class too. Jeremy Knapper had to RACE cruiser, Rich Farside had to race too. Why is this tolerated? It isn’t even one of the golden riders of NJ that did this.

Logical solution: Anyone determined to be sandbagging in their class is disqualified from both class and the open.

see, now that didn’t hurt, did it?

Think about it Meridian Ct. – moto count in the 50’s and 40’s. Want to know what the moto count for the local at Torringto was on Sunday? $3 with 4 open motos. The Meridian track had no business hosting a regional event. The track was crap. The gate sucked an the cadence was wrong!!! Can you believe they did not even use the whole starting cadence? It threw everyone but the locals off. TERRIBLE. The 13x class had 9 riders on Sat and 8 on Sun. They had the same mottos for both days. It wasn’t even scrambled. When I asked about it “they” said that it was and there was nothing that can be done. Can anyone give me the probability of this happining with 8 riders? Astronomical. LAZINESS. Isn’t that why God created the re-post? Sorry to go off but that hurt my son – he was in with 3 local riders on both days.

What are you talking about? The only racist(maybe) remark i have ever heard hear was the Where’s Buckwheat post, and I think i objected to that whole thread. I dont know where you are coming from. Is this going to happen every time you and I happen to post on the same thread? Sorry, man, I didnt object to any idea you had. just the language.
