I have all these moral issues, jeepers creepers.
What is it with you Jersey people and your moral issues? Ever see that film Clerks where she does the dead guy in the bathroom? Now that is some moral issues. Is that how they train Clerks in NJ to act?
Rich, no worries. I will paypal you the $5 late fee.
LeadSled1MemberYou would think Mr. Grant would go for some table top dances but I guess the lap top dances are easier to take home. It does promote a more harmonious feeling amongst the riders if you keep that stuff private.
I think we should get the trailer hitched up to Rich’s RV and go Bawls to the wall. Anyone for 5000 miles of road rage? I’m sure we could get plenty of haterade and energy drinks to fuel the Trip.
LeadSled1MemberI’ll be the first one to state that clipless or clip pedals are a 100% factual mechanical advantage.
But that does not mean that they are a racing advantage. I found myself holding back too much when clipped in. Worried about going OTB or looping. In flats I could give a rats ass about that as I know I can handle it not clipped in. So technically I am faster in flats. The clipless setup was a disadvantage to me. But I also grew up in the era that was preclipless. So I will be riding flats for now.
For the new riders who have started in the clipless era they have a different problem. They feel uncomfortable on flats and may also be scared of clipless. They may never reach their full potential as they do not feel 100% comfortable with letting it all hang out on a set of flats and seeing what they are really capable of doing.
It is like saying a short rear triangle on a bike is an advantage. It is a mechanical advantage (easier to pull the front end) but is it a racing advantage? Too short and you will loop out, not feel confident taking a jump at speed etc.
Get my point?

those west coast ABA guys are no joke.
I’m sure they are saying the same about a few of the east coast guys as well now. Congrats on the win. I was confident you were going to get Sunday also but those things happen. I was bugging Jud for an update on how you guys did while we were moving his stuff. When I get the cruiser together I’ll have to bring JD up with me for some practice.
LeadSled1MemberRich, exactly my thoughts. How can you let a medal class rider race in a challenge class also?
LeadSled1MemberThere is talk from Johan (UCI) that they are going to let the Masters run the Challenge cruiser class. Yet the NBL will not sign any Masters up from the US in the Challenge cruiser classes. So the other countries are going to allow them (like Flemming) to run Challenge supposedly. Those guys (UCI/NBL) don’t have a fricken clue on this. They should have created a Masters Cruiser class. It is the only Medal worlds class that does not have it’s own cruiser class also (look at Elite, Junior, Womens Elite and Womens Junior as they all have their own cruiser class). Yet the older riders far outnumber the younger riders in the cruiser population. Thats like trying to sell tickets to a vintage BMX show to the young riders and not offering any to the older riders. Completely wrong demographic.
LeadSled1MemberA little frustrated with the way things were so I am not going to ride what I was riding. Got thrown under the bus a couple of times and ignored a bit. It looks like I might be picking up a frame soon.
LeadSled1MemberJD didn this to me also. He liked riding his bike but just didn’t want to race. He has taken 18 months off but now he is up my butt about racing again. You never know. Remember, they are just kids and nothing is set in stone. It broke my heart too. It had a lot to do with me not racing lately also as the wife’s view of racing went a little south when it became a “daddy only” sport. 😆 We might have a deal for some bikes going so we may be back on the track soon.
LeadSled1MemberI’ve been thinking about going back to the 24 for a while. I actually ride a cruiser better than I do a 20. I feel more “at home” on the cruiser but I liked the comp in the X class.
LeadSled1MemberVery nice, now you won’t find one of these bad boys in Wallmart!
I’ve gotcha covered Greg.

LeadSled1MemberWe have a construction company down here giving away 250 yards of dirt. (we are in the middle of nowhere and they don’t want to haul it far away) I should have some building going on when things thaw out. They are already started delivering the stuff. About 5 dump trucks full so far.
LeadSled1MemberI can just see Ant at the next NJ meeting:
