Previously I would not have agreed on the UCI, Olympics thing but after what I saw last weekend I would agree. The UCI Friday race was the worst run BMX event I have ever been to. I had previously hoped that this would bring BMX back into the light. But as I see it now it is just adding another log onto a smouldering fire which will snuff it out.

Yeah, it was ankle, knee, hip and neck after the third round takeout. 😥

That knee wrap ended up on Josh Oies arm after he broke his forearm goofing off at the hotel Sunday night. That really sucks for him. We used the foam from my bike box to make a splint to get him home.

LMAO, I am in that pic. Look at the white tent on the left and below the left leg of it there is a lady in red with a big hat on. That is Madison Pitts mom. I am sitting in front of her in the blue shirt, sunglasses and hat on.

The whole team is sitting in the hotel lobby for the next 4 hours until the bus gets here to leave. Lotsa fun.

Everyone is ok. We are packing up the bikes and getting ready to head out tomorrow. I’ll be glad to be back.

Phil was killing it and I was sitting with his dad. He was beating Bradford. Some bad luck and bad riding by the other riders kept him out.

I got taken out 2nd and 3rd motos and that ended my run early. Stiff neck, knee, ankle and hip injury. Not a lot of fun.

Poorly run by the UCI (USAC is actually doing a great job).

Lots of take outs and track cutting but only one called for it all day yesterday. (Bubba and KB got taken out too) I was too sore today to get out of bed so I stayed at the hotel.

Mike King had more of a modern riding style back then and did well on the technical tracks. I think he and Bubba are on more of a comparison level. Pete had the power.

He is the team manager of the US Challenge team. He is also the owner of Clayborn BMX.

I do stand by my statement as him being our best choice at this point. He has been there so many times at the UCIs he knows what you can and can not do. He knows how things are run and has some “influence”.

As for Jud and Rich’s problems I really wish he would have pressured Bob or USAC to get involved. I don’t think he wanted to jeapordize his position as the team manager and backed off. Jeff Upshaw Sr. said something about that in the other post with “You can’t ride the fence on this one”. I think it is utter BS that Bob did not even put an inquiry in to Adventure Travel. The sanction recommended them which means BOB should be involved.

Hopefully things end up better in the future. I have been checking out the other nations cycling sites and their riders got money and full uniforms to go to Brazil. Even the Brazil riders got full uniforms and $400 to race in their home country.

We got nothing other than a $60 jersey we paid $150 for (USAC license fee for the race).

Rich, I am going to pick up yours and Juds jerseys for you from over there.

Next year I think ABA will be a bigger contender for my money than NBL. I would rather travel more for their races than give money to someone who does not seem to care about HIS riders.

Next year the ABA will have qualifiers for the Worlds. Things are going to change.

Sore as hell. Ate poop in the rhythm section at Bensalem. Ice last night and tonight. Hopefully good for the weekend and then flying out Sunday for Brazil.

Did my 30 this morning and that will be that last of them. Practice at Bensalem tomorrow night and then racing for the weekend before flying to the UCIs.

Craig, good luck in New Paltz if you go.

If you want to see what the races are all about there is an ABA national in Philly this weekend. It is a totally different atmosphere. With less than half the qualifiers as the NBL the comp it always tough.

Yeah Craig, I took it easy on Friday and Saturday between the storms and the knee acting up again. I did 50 sprints yesterday. It was the first time JD has done all of them with me. He usually doesn’t get past 12 before taking off and hitting his ramps. It was fun having him ride the whole time. I’ll probably hit 50 tonight and then drop back to 30 tomorrow to get ready for the weekend ABA national in Bensalem and then Brazil.
