It’s funny that you said that, I was driving the kids to school this morning after I posted my opinion and Gabe said if he had the choice he definately would choose his clips! And then he said”why?” I said “because I wanna know!”
There you go.I don’t want to offend anyone but…. It seems that The “old schoolers” are the ones that are against them and the new kids that have been riding with them, don’t want to race without them.Am I wrong?
My 5 year old daughter started racing this summer! We are very excited to see her have an interest at a sport that her brother started this past May.She has only been in one race and is a little nervous, understandably, but it is GREAT to see the girls step up and become role models for the little ones!
She is looking foward to the spring to practice on the tracks and do some racing.

I’ll never forget my sons first race, he was 5 .In May we went to Flemmington and when we got to the track I freaked out! I was scared to death and thought he would kill himself on the first tabletop!
After I terrified him, he finally came around and decided to try it and never looked back!( thanks to Matt for his patients) He did his first race and got 5th place (out of 5)racing all 8&9 year olds.
Now I keep my mouth shut and just let him do his thing with no fear I might add! 😀While were adding stories…This was my sons first summer racing he absoulutly loves it and is having so much fun. Long story short we had a great summer watching him do better and better with every race, when he won at the state finals at CJ (then 6 rookie) I was so excited for him that I contacted our local newspaper(NJ Herald)I thought they would put a little paragraph in about him and mabey a picture.
When we got the call that the article was going to run the next day I couldn’t wait to see it. I was so supprised when I got the paper the next day they did a 1/2 page story on the cover of the sports page( with a captioned picture on front cover)The story ran on Wednesday Sept. 13th.
We got so much response from people we knew and even people we did’nt!
I’m glad I called the paper because so many people are asking us all about BMX racing.Congratulations Ryan!!! youuuuhaaaasooofast. Can’t wait to see you race as a novice.You’ll do awesome!
That’s a bummer! It would be the perfect place, they already have the mountain bike park.I think that it’s called Diablo Freeride park or something like that.
