Ok, I think we have all come to the conclusion that we NEED to use the new points system on the state and local level. Lets make sure it happens and not accept any excuses. This may require some work. Tracks may require new ‘puters. Think globally, act locally and make it happen. Anyone know what system requirements are for the new software?

Big picture you are right, however concerning the points system, relax… there will be plenty of time to have a cow later! 😈

The split away … was spurred by a group of activist … who had grown disenchanted with what they saw as an inept sanctioning body. Complaining of poor promotion and small purses, this group coalesced around …what came to be known as the “…White Paper”, the blueprint for an organization …. . The white paper called for the owners to form an advocacy group to promote … national championship, doing the job where the sanctioning body wouldn’t. The group would also work to negotiate television rights and race purses, and ideally hold seats on …(the) governing body. … team owners… took their demands to (the)board and the proposal was rejected.

rejection of the proposal led to the three owners to form a new series … under the principles laid out in the White Paper. The new series quickly gained the support of the majority of team and track owners, …

Who? What? CART-Championship Auto Racing Teams. While in the end it didn’t quite turn out the way it could have, here was a group of car owners who had enough and DID SOMETHING ABOUT IT!
    nuff said.

Just wait till after the CC and the meeting. I know there are people going to the CC specifically for this reason.

The way I understand it, Florida and a few others were tests, so that they can roll out the new software and points system without as many glitches. I think this may be one thing that actually happens 😯

I think we need to wait till after the CC before we make any judgement calls. Lets see what they bring back and push forward from there.

Basically, each track brings their qualifier schedule to the board, and barring any conflicts, its approved by the board. HC has a tentative schedule, I am not sure about EHT. Pottstown needs to come up with thier dates.

    FYI:

    SUNSHINE STATE BMX ASSOCIATION, INC.
    ANNUAL MEETING OF THE ASSOCIATION

    November 11, 2006
State Points Keeper – Kathy Bostrom – Wanted to explain the changes that have been made with the new points system regarding the point’s structure & class structures.
    1. Local Level Only- Mains will be pointed as rider finishes per their class.

    5. Pilot Program- Alice stated that the NBL is hoping other states will adopt the New Points Program. Florida is the pioneer and is actually being used as a pilot program to find glitches and to see what works and what doesn’t. We will be able to tell them where they need to make changes in the program at the NBL Competition Congress. Alice encouraged everyone to have a positive attitude.

State Race Commissioner – Alice Bixler – stated that we started our New State Season last week and she has received phone calls and emails about the new points program. Most are complaining, however, some are stating they like what we are doing. Alice stated that the silent vote of people spoke for itself today when we had more riders today then we had last year. She feels people are looking for change and this is a good change.

The state championship rotates among the 3 tracks. This year it is our turn. Don’t worry, we will be sure to put lots of QP and rocks on the track 😆
