    Dave – Let’s hope Lisa isn’t reading this….. 👿

My wife thinks I’m nuts – although she doesn’t mind that I lost 15 pounds getting in shape for this (with more to follolw). I asked what her thoughts were about my racing – and she said she was okay with it – but feels I have this secret life she doesn’t know about. 8) She was mainly referring to the time I devote to this site.

Her biggest worry is me getting hurt – she freaked when she saw my arm after the Jack Frost, and two days later when the bruise – about half my thigh – showed up, she freaked again. Not a rant – more of a “O my God, Craig!”. Even though she has brothers, they were not a blood & guts family like mine – my parents had no issues with the injuries. My parents are old school baby!

I hope you’ll be meeting her soon – she really does want to come out and see me race. She did not know me BITD, so it will be fun to see her reactions after she watches me fly over some doubles, etc.

But, she does support me, and I couldn’t ask for more than that.

    Thanks Christine!!

I don’t know – Flemington is too out in the woods – can you really call it North Jersey? lol.

Actually – I was out there not long ago – and with all the new construction going on – its gonna look like the rest of North Jersey soon. 😯

Absolutely. 100%. No questions asked. We NEED this forum.

There are now 68 members on this site – and we need everyone of you – regardless of what stage of racing or where you live – you all count!

Bill – I was not lecturing – just throwing in my two cents in hopes that people will listen and be open. If ya read my whole post – you will see I took both sides – not just Rich’s – and never inferred that you must build it his way – just let the ideas sink in a little and see how they mesh with yours – and I gotta believe you got your own ideas about changes, etc.

I did my share back in the day – and like I told Brett – its my goal to slowly work my way back in – and if nothing else help monetarily through sponsoring the sites, etc – I got a wife and two kids – it took me almost a year just to get back to the track from when I bought my new ride – so you will be seeing me slowly but surely.

Like I said – with this much angst – we CAN move this forward in a positive way.

And Bill – I’m looking forward to seeing the track you built by your house – just know I’m not raggin’ on ya – but look forward to working with ya.

As a footnote – the one thing I hate about posts and email is you cannot hear the vocal inflection and emotion of the person “talking”. Ant’s idea of a get together is a good one.

for what its worth – Brett was one of the first people to take an interest in me when I showed up at Braddock in ’82. He really cares about this sport. I always enjoyed riding with ya Brett – too bad you didn’t see me race ’88-’89 when I finally smoothed out!

After reading all these back and forth posts – I think its time for a new track in North Jersey. We’ll call it “Veteran’s BMX Track”. 😉

Seriously – I went to EHT – and all those jumps wore me out and its a haul down there for me. I haven’t been to CJ yet – but everyone has me scared of the monster. Now I hear about the quarry dust and 20 motos at HC.

So I am supposed to just accept this?

I would love it if EHT were closer – and after all I’m reading – it might become my home track – and I have relatives on the way that can babysit the kids – so it kind of works out.

But, there has to be compromise here – Rich wants to invest in his home track – but thinks there should be changes. He raced in California where BMX still thrives – so, DUH! he might just have some good input. But – on the flip side – you are not necessarily gonna change everything right away just because he has the cash. Still – if you are only getting 20 motos there – what is the plan to get more????????????? Something has to give.

So – everyone first please kiss and make up – I want NJ BMX to thrive and grow – and to be honest – if we all have this much angst in our tanks – then we have the energy to effect positive evolution and GROWTH.

Bill – I think ya need to let Rich’s idea’s sink in a little. Poll your regulars – get their input. Whatever it takes. The three tracks we have are all long standing tradition rich tracks that should be pulling more than 20 motos. It may take a few years – but if we invest now – we can re-grow this thing we all love.

    Thank you and good night.

Ant – if not your house – I’m sure there is a Pizza place somewhere that will work – except we might not be allowed to have beer. But I’m all for it – the senior voices of BMX have some great ideas – and I truly believe if we come together the right way and present our ideas the right way – we can affect positive change in NJ BMX.

Rich – if you don’t mind me saying – I know you of all people have a forgiving spirit – so don’t give up on us yet!!!

I don’t know how you made your offer to help – but we just have to knock on enough doors and find the right people to speak to. But – if HCBMX is worried that you want to take over – then lets use the money to fix the monster at CJBMX. 😀

Honest Rich – there is a lot to do here in NJ – and we need ya – don’t give up on us.

according to the site – we is not welcome there.

FYI: My wife and I got to Yankee games alot – and right across the street from the parking garage near the stadium is a full bore ramp / street park with a nice quarter pipe and wooden jumps, etc. We should go hit THAT sometime.
