Ham’s gotta cruiser?
April 8, 2006 at 3:50 pm in reply to: I AM NUMBER 28 IN THE REGION . CELEBRATION B!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! #29849CrazyCraigMemberI got ya beat Ant –
#29 in 35-39 cruiser – also dead last.
CrazyCraigMemberwho’s gonna insure it? 😀 lol
CrazyCraigMemberBetter yet Ham – how about an off-camber turn – they sucked on flats – and they would REALLY screw up the clip commandos.
If you don’t know what I mean – its a turn that the high spot is on the inside and angles down to the outside. I raced a couple of those BITD.
CrazyCraigMemberSaturday forecast for Flemington:
Showers in the morning then cloudy in the afternoon. High 47F. Winds N 5-10 mph. Chance of rain 60%
CrazyCraigMemberWow – back off Billy Boy – just taking a poll. 😀
But – I’m with ya Bill – I jumped right on the cruiser knowing there were some fast guys out there in our class. I felt I’d be safer on it than a 20″.
But – unlike a lot of ya – I was off ANY bike for over 10 years and put on 60+ pounds since my racing days. I have lost almost 20 of them – but I don’t see myself jumping into expert just yet. I am VERY proud of my accomplishments BITD and do not want to diminish them – but coming back after 16-17 years – I’m okay with racing at the Novice level since it feels like I am starting all over again.
Looks like I’m gonna take a lotta of sh*t if I start in rookie. 😯
Thank you all for the feedback – even you Bill. 😉
CrazyCraigMemberIt’s pretty amazing to see how far we have come with this sport.
To the new guys reading this – when you see any of the OMs out there, you should thank them for all they did BITD to get us where we are. Watching that video brought back some big time memories. I raced on tracks like that – and we thought they were awesome BITD.
Hopefully together we can move it forward from here!
CrazyCraigMemberQuestion for the day (and I put this on another thread as well – the one with the crash video link)
Coming back in – should I start in 17+ rookie – or start right in 35+ novice once I get back on a 20?
And on the subject of building the 20″ – I picked up a Redline Proline Comp pretty cheap – but mostly for the parts – the frame has a 19.5 top tube. I am watching a couple of frames on eBay – but anyone out there with a solid 21-21.5 XL Frame for cheap? American or Euro is fine either way.
CrazyCraigMemberI have set a goal to win a National main without clips – even if I have to race 17+ rookie to do it. 😀
That said – and give me honest feedback – I’ll be back on a 20″ soon – building it now – where should I start: 17+ rookie or 35+ Novice??

CrazyCraigMemberMy wild guess is Farside. If not him – Judge?
CrazyCraigMemberHey now – since when did I join the squirrel squadron? 😯
Okay – I’m rusty – but gee whiz – no respect around here. 🙂
And no Jess – I ain’t searching for a pair – just being back at the track should show I gotta a set. 8)
But I aint clippin in just yet. If ya think I’m squirrelly on flats – think I’d be any better clipped in? 😯
CrazyCraigMemberIf I’m there without the kids – or with extra help to watch them – you can count on me to help out.
CrazyCraigMemberGee whiz – were tracks really that wimpy back then?? To be honest – I miss ’em! 😆
CrazyCraigMember…and you want me to wear clips???????
CrazyCraigMemberThanks Jess – I CANNOT let my wife see this – or I am never going racing again. 😯
