Thanks Ant! But I think Pete looked better in practice. Give him time!
CrazyCraigMemberDid ya have to say 20 years?!?!?!?!?
Now I feel old.
Kind of weird seeing 10 Experts from back in the day all grown up now. 😀
CrazyCraigMemberOoops.
Don’t worry Brett, I aint going no where. But, Pete’s been practicing more than me – I gotta get out there on the bike other than just race day!
Pete was always “quicker” than me back in the day. I won my share of races by just being the bigger guy sometimes. If I could holeshot the start I was hard to pass. Thats how I did well on cruiser – I had an awesome power snap and great 3rd & 4th pedals back in 84-85, not unlike Farside today. Still – my best year was 1989 – that’s when I felt my smoothest and fastest – it would have been interesting to see me & Pete race each other in our primes.
I tweaked my knee at EHT two weeks ago – and I tweaked it some more with my RV slam – so I might have to take it easy – we’ll see how I feel by the 3rd at EHT. Still – give Pete and me some time – you’ll see us in Ex soon enough! (only 18 move-up points to go for me)
CrazyCraigMemberI’ll give ya that Pete – you were jumping better than I was that day – although I felt I had the triple/double-step (whatever you want to call it) dialed in pretty good except for the second moto.
The first straight step-up is where I had my bad fall and cracked a rib so I guess I’m still a little gun-shy over that one, although I shouldn’t be – I just need to go down there on a Friday and practice. Same goes for the monster double into the first turn. I was definitely hitting it with enough speed on Saturday. I was popping off the lip, trying to hold the bike down and landing right in front of the next lip which popped the bike up again and I was actually jumping down the back side. If I was going any faster, I would have been running into the second bump and flipping. I’ll be jumping it soon.
No joke – Pete’s back – and he’s for real. I think I’ll be switching to Mountain Bike racing soon. 😀
Pete – you did more than OK. Just stay on those pedals. 😀
CrazyCraigMemberSo – how’d ya sleep on Sunday? I remember you saying something about sleeping in. Did ya even make it out of bed that day? 😀
Good to have ya back Pete. Now I really gotta get in some gate practice! 😀
CrazyCraigMemberOn Saturday Pete came in 5th in the cruiser main – but technically 4th since the main was won by Farside (40-44).
In 35+ Novice action, I think Pete went 3-2-3 and 4th or 5th in the main. I went 2-4-1 and won the main. The “4” was when I hit the RV. If you read through a couple of threads about the weekend you’l get the whole story. But yeah, I won the main, can you believe it?
We miss ya bro, come on back and visit!
CrazyCraigMemberI just got done reading you entire rant on NE BMX, whew!
Maybe the UBMXRC will become the new sanction, and we’ll do it right!!
CrazyCraigMemberUnbelievable is all I can say.
Yer right Brett & Bill – there are kids that can’t race right now because of this. Thank you NBL for killing BMX in that area.
Not being the hell-yeah-lets-burn-their-house-down activist that you are Brett – what can we do to impact the situation there in NY? Since its not our state – I’m not sure if we can do anything to help them, but I guess moving forward this is definitely something to make part of our mission with the UBMXRC. Hopefully we can impact change in policy once we pick up steam.
They tout BMX as a sport where no one sits on the sidelines or on the bench – everyone races as often as they want. Well – unless the sanctions get their poop together on this one – looks like some kids are gonna sit out.
Let not let this happen here.
CrazyCraigMemberPat – go back to work. 😆
CrazyCraigMember…hey, ya never know. But speak for yourself old guy.
Still…whether she would bother with us or not…my wife still wouldn’t let me go. 😀
CrazyCraigMemberif I can work out the kids, etc, then I’ll be there. Do we have an approximate time we are shooting for?

Proposed ammendment 1: All tracks(NJ first, obviously) shall have lanes clearly painted on starting hills. 😡 Dont ask me why this is important!
LorenLoren – I know exactly why this is important. That guy couldn’t ride a straight line if his life depended on it. I think Pawson after a 30pk of PBR could ride straighter then him.
CrazyCraigMemberLMAO 😆
CrazyCraigMemberIf she were a racer in Jersey – my wife would slash my tires and make me stay home. 😀 lol

And what the hell is this about crazy Craig slamming into an RV? I’m picturing it looney tunes style where Craig slams into the RV so hard he goes right through it and you see a hole in the shape of Craig on the side.
Dave – I definitely got my bell rung – but nothing like Eddie H. But, I did survive the wreck, got up (after 5-10 minutes – figured everyone could use the rest) – and finished the moto.
When I got up for my next cruiser moto I look out at the RV and now the door was open! I thought “hey, they left it open this time so I can jump right through” 😀
Would you believe I won the next moto – and went on to win the 35+ Novice main? I went 2-4-1-1 for the day and led every moto at some point or another. Came back for third on Sunday – I had nothing left in the tank. Oh yeah, slammin the RV didn’t help either – I was a little sore – pulled out of cruiser and just raced 20 on Sunday.
Yeah, yeah Bill, I hear ya saying “ya shoulda raced Ex”. Give me time. After reading all this – do you think they want me up there yet? I think they’d like me better if I shake some more rust off first. But hey, I got 2 move up points, 18 more to go.
