Update on the buses:
Lisa Heath said one of our racer’s moms has her CDL and has experience with charters, etc. She may also know where we could rent a bus for her to drive. This could present some good cost savings for us.
At this stage its only preliminary and presents another option to explore. I hope to know more before the meeting on the 9th.
CrazyCraigMemberNot sure how it will work with the bikes, I have gotten conflicting feedback on that one.
Yes, $120 would be the round trip fare not including your food but does not include your hotel room. Hopefully there will be a lot of sharing to keep those costs down too.
CrazyCraigMember…and the future pros are not going to come out of the 35 and over class. 😯
Its great that us old dogs are back, but Bill is right, the local level is where it starts!!!
CrazyCraigMemberYes, Saturday was an awesome day, my only beef was the after-race festivities started too soon so hardly anyone watched the three mains. The first main was the Open Class which I would have expected everyone would want to watch. I am not trying to be a kill-joy, but part of promoting a sport is keeping everyone in their seats till the end. We need to keep building up the local “heros” every chance we can. You never know who the next Philly D. or Rich Farside (to name a couple) is gonna be.
Speaking of heros, my hat’s off to Rich Farside for rolling the gate 6 times even though you knew it was extremely painful to do so. A lot of kids look up to you Rich. Good Job.
It was good to see Allen Thompson (35-39 Cruiser) there after his bad fall at HC BMX a few weeks ago. Even though he had some extensive surgery, the doctors expect him to make a full recovery, although I don’t know if that includes racing.
I do agree the after-race party was really well planned and made the day that much more fun for a lot of the kids and families. Kind of a something-for-everyone day at the race track.
It was a great day of racing, there were over 40 motos, and I know of at least a couple of riders who were not qualified but came and gave their best in the open. Lets all get out there and keep preaching BMX so we get 50-60 motos at next year’s race!!
Thank you NJ BMX & CJBMX for a job well done!! 😀
CrazyCraigMemberChris, all you gotta do is touch that gate once. You got me smoked in points.
But, I won’t be unhappy if you decide to stay home tomorrow an rest.!
Give me your home number so I can talk your wife into chaining you to the house or something. “Hello, Mrs. Whiley? This is Doctor Wilson. Chris’s X-Rays show he should not even get out of bed today, but he’ll be okay on Sunday.” 😛
See ya tomorrow Chris!
Note to Brett: ya gotta fix the code on the “wink”.
August 18, 2006 at 4:25 pm in reply to: State Standings thru 08/17/06 are posted over on the forum #33193CrazyCraigMemberThanks Janeen for getting all this done. Awesome job!
And Brett, you got to the top by being consistent and not “blowing up” like some of us have.
Believe me, its killing me because 54 points over the course of 15 races is nothing. If I wasn’t killin myself on two bikes, then maybe some of my finishes would have been different. But, for sure you can say no one got an easy ride, a lot of the races have been head to head, maybe I just got on the 20″ too late this year.!
Still, look how close Loren is to me, tomorrow is gonna be a good race!
CrazyCraigMember…then do us a favor Dave, please hide the PBR. Honest. That is some press we do not need. 😀
CrazyCraigMemberChris, I hope you are on the bike, but if you are not, remember: as long as you go up for the first moto and put your wheel on the gate, you get points for the day and Championship.
I’m sure you knew that, but wanted to make sure.
CrazyCraigMemberDaaaaaang!
I used to be in the auto parts biz, and we knew who the “dirty” shops were. We had a one shop that started buying alot of spray cans of specific engine paints. We later found out they would tell the customer they needed a water pump, take it out, clean it off, paint it, and re-install it, and then charge them for a new pump. This was 20 years ago when alot of pumps were still easy to take out.
But, to see a major chain like this get snagged, wow. Sears got snagged like this about 10 years ago. The undercover folks would remove a wire from the alternator, bring the car in, and Sears sold them a new alternator, but only fixed the lose wire. Their mechanics were commissioned at the time. This happened in NJ – and they snagged several Sears locations.
CrazyCraigMemberWiley had the step into the second turn wired all night, watching him pedal right over it was awesome.
CrazyCraigMemberC’mon Jess – where are you?? A “Real Men of Genius” is needed here!

Hey yea I remember coming down the 2nd straight and thinking hey that’s Craig on the mic cool!!
Gee whiz, so I guess it was my fault…
They’ll never let me announce a race again. 😥
CrazyCraigMemberNope, they won’t postpone, but I hear rumor that we might get Geritol, Tylenol, and a local sports rehab doctor to sponsor the race! 😀
Wait, Ace Bandage just called to get on board.
…oh, and Pfizer called (makers of Viagra), they want to know if all us old guys are doing this racing stuff to, uh, err, compensate for any problems.
…there goes the phone again, hello? Who’s this? BenGay? Sorry, IcyHot already snagged that sponsorship.
…wait, hold on, who’s this? Daimler Chrysler?? You want us to what?? No, I’m sorry, as qualified as we may seem, I don’t think any of us are interested in a job as a Crash Test Dummy (psst – how much does it pay? 😀 )
Saturday is gonna be fun!

Yes that was the state championship last night and you all came in first in the acrobatic and front flip category…..well done!
So no need for any of you guys to show up this Saturday 😀Good job staying out of those wrecks Niall. I’m glad I didn’t run both classes last night, then it might have gotten real ugly. 😯
CrazyCraigMemberYours truly was announcing the last moto and saw Dave go down, and then Chris flip over him. You guys were just flat out hauling a** all night. I hope my announcing didn’t get you jacked up too much! 😀
Chris, after Dave did his forward front flip you just caught him or his bike the wrong way and it threw you. No time to react. Hope yer feeling better. I bet yer glad you had the body armor on.
Brett’s right: it was not the best night for the old dogs. First moto I slip a pedal before the first jump and Brett got loose too. I end up doing a one-footer and you could hear us both in the air, side-by-side, going “Shiiiiiiiiii-ttttttttt!!”. It was pretty funny. Luckily we both landed it safely.
Lets keep the rubber side down this Saturday!!
