Ahhh, gotta love those that hide behind a key board. Yawn…

But, this is the smoked section, so anything goes, as usual.

Still, pretty funny stuff. I’m just concerned for all you that have the time to go find all of this stuff to post. Lets put the energy towards something positive, ‘kay?

I mean, I am assuming that one of you has cured cancer, right? I can’t beleive this is the most important thing you got going on right now. At least when I bash on Brett & Ant, its on the gate so they know where its coming from.

Ya know what’s funny? I cannot remember the year or race, but I can say that I raced Bensalem one time.

Last year I unwittingly got off the exit for the track on my way home from something and knew exactly where I was, even though it was probably at least 18yrs or more since being there. Weird, huh?

So here is the run down as I see it:

    Race Friday night at CJ

Race Double Header at Flemington on Saturday AND…

Depending on where you live, either….

    Race Pottstown Saturday night or
Race Double Header Saturday night at EHT if you can get there on time from Flemington

    Race Sunday at CJ

    Am I correct??

So, theorectically you could race 5 or 6 times this weekend!! Wow!

What I’m about to say is a sincere compliment, and that the first post is the most positive comment made by ridinlow so far, except for the exchange between him/her and Dave just now. That was not needed. Dave, I think you are a little jaded by previous posts and may not have understood this for what it is. Ridinlow, you didn’t need to hit below the belt either. O-kay?

You may be right that guerilla tactics may not be the order of day. Keep in mind this is a status meeting and the main outcome will probably be to get the year-end committees rocking and rolling for the next couple of months.

    See ya all tomorrow. 😀

Actually this was the easiest year in 30-34X I have seen. 35-39 will be much harder for 08 than 30-34 was in 07. The new 25-34X will bring that class back to being hard again.

Jess, 35-39 already IS harder than 30-34, so whats your point? 😛

Oh yeah, and with the new classes I still dont get a chance to school you when you age up, darn. j/k.

I asked in another thread to keep comments about Saturday off the internets, so Deb, don’t let him/her bait you.

If anyone is TRULY interested in working out the events of last Saturday, and the events that led up to it, then I suggest we sit down like adults and discuss it.

And for the record, I am truly trying to act as a mediator with one goal in mind: moving forward with accountability. PM me if you feel the need to take this conversation further. But, I will only have detailed conversations online or offline with people that will fully identify themselves.

My car radio was busted at the time so I had no clue what was going on. I drop my then 7 month old son off at day care, and they casually mentioned something about a plane hitting a building in NYC. They did not have a tv there, so they didn’t know much either, and were too tied up with the kids to pay attention to the radio much. I thought, gee, some poor guy in a cesna I bet. Little did I know.

By the time I drove the few miles to my office, you would have thought World War III had just started. I worked at a large office, and moms and dad and just about everyone else were running around like crazy, calling their daycare centers, schools, babysitters, etc. Once I heard what had really happened, I left as fast as I could to get back to the daycare and get my son. By then things had gone bananas.

My wife was a teacher in Saddle Brook at the time, so she was 20 miles away and the school was on lock down, she could not leave until every last kid was picked up. Until then, they had to go about their business as best as possible. How do you explain to a kid everything is okay when half the kids just got picked up in mad rush?

I remember getting home, put my son down to play, and turned on the tv. I watched the replay of what happened in horror, and then watched the towers come down. I just could not believe what was happening was less then 40 miles away from me, and from certain hills in my area, you could see the smoke blowing north for miles. It was all to surreal.

Since cell phones lines were either not working or overloaded, I had no choice but to just wait for my wife to eventually get home that day. Boy was she a mess. I was very proud of her, she took care of the kids at school and told me she never got upset in front of them. She was very strong for them.

I am blessed that this is all me and my family experienced from this terrible tragedy. We were lucky. I am blessed that we live in a great county, even with all its flaws, that did not let something like this stop us from moving forward.

Many many families were affected by this and I cannot imagine the horror many faced. God bless them.

    Lets see:

    Brett –
Announces races, takes pics, shoots video, maintains pro/am website, designs posters, helps secure grant, etc, etc, etc.

    Ant-
Starts up race team with local bike shop, gets riders to races, helps with 35x motofill, lol, helps neighbors fix there kids bikes, gives parts to them for free, etc, etc, etc.

    Deb-
until recently did 50-50 at every HCBMX race I have been to, has a very awesome son who inspires many of the little grommets to keep coming back (that fact alone – raising a kid like Danny speaks VOLUMES), will take the time to answer questions, volunteers whenever possible, etc, etc, etc.

They all do a lot more, but please, do not measure someone by whether or not they have an “officials” license.

Do we have a lot of great volunteers in this state that DO have officials license, yes. But just because you don’t have one, does not mean you are not helping, etc.

I think I’ll head on over to P-burgh to go riding with PBR. Maybe he does have this all figured out, lol.

    40+…hmmm…

Okay, so in NJ, that’s me, Farside & Brett in 40+ expert, unless there are more that I am not aware of.

It will be interesting to see how the NBL computer combines local classes going forward.

But, as a 40yr old, this is good for me, and it means I’m racing the same folks on either bike (at least at the Nats).

    Hope everyone else is happy!
