Craig, I can just imagine what all the perspective parents were thinking, when you did your evil knievel improv!!!!!
I think they were all 50/50 in their view on things. They were all very helpful grabbing first aid kits to help me. And I think it impressed them that I was out on the bike and looked like I knew what I was doing. But then the blood dripping off the mangled hand… Well, 2 out of 3 aint bad, right?
All the kids came up to me to check out the carnage as I was cleaning up. The one comment I clearly remember was “Gross!”. Still, the dads took down the website info as I dictated it and I gave them the date for the Jack Frost. Hopefully they will come on out.
CrazyCraigMemberLook at it this way, think of all the injuries I saved everyone by pre-testing the track. 🙄
CrazyCraigMemberI knew there was a reason I like ya Bill. I really think they are not going to know what hit them.
CrazyCraigMemberYeah Deb – I can hear you loud and clear, remember, I am only 3 or 4 towns away. 😀
One thing that I forgot to say is I really like the new first and second straights and turns, even if one did eat me for lunch. Once the new work smooths out, its gonna rock!
CrazyCraigMemberHey, this is how they nailed Al Capone, right?
This could really shake things up. But, how can we be a part of something that is possibly breaking the law? Obviously none of us want our names associated with NJBMX and then be named in a violation, right?
Sounds like we do need to fix what is broken first, so if everyone is on board, this is the way we should proceed.
Going back to one of the first threads in this closed forum, we DO need to prepare for the possiblity of having to start a whole new NJBMX.
CrazyCraigMemberTo quote Jack Palance in City Slickers:
“I crap bigger than you.”
CrazyCraigMemberme 4
CrazyCraigMemberBill – in some other threads we have discussed a pro-am series for the fall, hopefully we can make it stick.
CrazyCraigMemberBill – awesome work. I am very curious to hear where this leads.
CrazyCraigMemberBrett, you should have been a lawyer. Good Work.
This clearly sums up everything and now gives us something to work with.
CrazyCraigMember– handing out year end awards in Shoprite bags
– not embracing the one in-state website that has more traffic than all the other NJ sites together (that being brokenspokes, of course). Or the inverse – keeping an outdated website up and not making proper use of it (and deleting all the spammer posts, etc)
– not developing a plan to build a proper database of ALL the NJ racers including phone numbers and email addresses.
– not having a plan in place to have state jerseys available no later than the state awards ceremony
give me some time to think up more.
CrazyCraigMemberBrett, I am not necessarily saying he is doing that, I am just suggesting this could be the motivation behind having the webhost as a “sponsor” – so as to be able to take some sort of tax deduction.
Does Jeff own the company that he insists does the webhosting?
CrazyCraigMemberThat has got to be one of the sweetest old school rides I have seen.
CrazyCraigMemberYes Brett – I pay for that banner ad on HC as part of my “gold sponsorship” package. I am allowed to hang signs at HC on race days (gotta get some made) and Matt always talks me up very well at the locals.
I only asked if this is a fight worth worrying about because I did not know all the facts. Your right, why is it SOOOO important to Jeff that they are called a “sponsor”? Maybe its so that company can say they are “discounting” their services and deducting the rest as a “charitable deduction” for “sponsoring” a tax exempt organization????? Just thinking out loud here.
So, another “paid” position for an all-volunteer organization, huh? If done correctly, Jeff could issue/get a receipt for “services rendered” to/from NJ BMX and deduct it on his taxes. As long as he could prove the services were rendered (in case of an audit), its totally legit.
CrazyCraigMemberI will be there. Not sure who I will be rebutting, but will be ready to speak up and get things rolling.
