Dave – good luck – and as always – keep the rubber side down. Maybe someday some of us will join you on the Spain trip or something like it.

We all know I’m out spoken, but here is what I have to offer, and it’s in Matts defense. Goverment likes to make itself bigger, to make itself more imprtant! That being said, the county sees land sitting there that some agency probably has grand plans for!!! So sometimes the best coarse of action is no action. Or, the lets not poke the bear saying applies here. Thats my 2cents
Yes, there is probably some bureaucrat somewhere with a budget he needs to spend on something that will accomplish nothing, so I can see Matt & Bill’s point. But, I also see Chris’ point. I guess you gotta just keep building it “under the radar” until hopefully you can show the town some hard numbers. But, for what it’s worth, I do not think most of the families coming in spend much money “in town”, especially since you cant have big races there that would bring in the overnight campers, etc. HCBMX needs to first focus on Flemington and the surrounding towns by getting into the schools, etc, to promote the sport. If Hayden ever gets the Jefferson track going, I will work to do the same because I live about 20 minutes from the proposed site.
I don’t know all the reasons the town won’t allow camping on the property for a big race, but they are missing an opportunity to make some revenue from it for sure.
Are we like, waaaaay off topic now?
CrazyCraigMemberThat was a nice track!
CrazyCraigMemberDon’t let him do it Tim, I’ve seen his previous work!

I forget who but one of you guys is a realtor.
What would a $10,000 lot cost per month using a 10 or 15 year loan?
How much would a $20,000 lot cost per month using a 10 or 15 year loan?Eric, I think you are referring to me, the mortgage guy.
$20,000 @ 10% over 15yrs = $215/month.
The one big challenge in getting the land loan is being a qualified borrower. The bank wants to feel secure about getting paid back.
We WISH we could buy a decent piece of land in Eastern Morris County for that price. We would be ALL over it!
One thing I will add: if you write a comprehensive business plan and can honestly demonstrate a true profit potential, a SBA loan could be the ticket too (Small Business Administration loan).
CrazyCraigMemberuh, Dave, lots of us are getting Ride BMX for free right now. I know I am. Bunch of folks on Vintage were talking about getting it free, too.
CrazyCraigMemberI’m gonna go with another Redline BB for now to get by cause I might invest in DXR’s, we’ll see.
Dave, more than creaking, I’m getting a knocking noise of sorts.
CrazyCraigMemberLend me a bike and I’m in fo sure!
CrazyCraigMemberDon’t stop Ant!
CrazyCraigMemberI am still getting that noise we heard, and after swapping out rims and different freewheels, I am 99% certain its the Redline BB. I know I gave you the BB from my cruiser to put in the 20″ (if you recall the other bearings were cracked). After the heavy sprints last night the noise got worse for awhile, and its only when I pedal. It has to be the BB.
One of our CT riders has a brand new one he does not need, he is gonna give it to me.
Other than that its doing great.
CrazyCraigMemberWow, did we let this thread die off or what?
First, just to comment on Dave’s last post – I truly believe you are just a few skill improvements away from getting to where you want to be.
After September of last year I let things slide, had some injuries and health problems, etc, but still no excuse. This spring I was my kid’s Tball manager but still no excuse.
I have not raced nearly as much as I did by this point last year, and couple that with a lack of hard core training, and it shows.
I have been working on my core (crunches, etc) and am now able to do 3 sets of 10 vertical leaps pretty well, so I am looking to step that up. I have gotten out to ride, but felt I was having trubs with my mechanics at the start of my sprints.
Finally last night I got out there again, and ripped out some 25yd sprints – 3 sets of 5 – and then ended with 5 rolling 100s. With full gear on nonetheless. Boy did I sweat.
I really tried to focus on perfect circles and attacked the hills on the ride home (just over a mile). I made sure to isolate my thighs and boy did they burn.
I don’t feel too bad today and will get in a small recovery ride tonight.
CrazyCraigMemberLou – last night I went for a ride @ 11:15pm. Headed down to my “main street” to do some sprints in the Foodtown parking lot. I had fun hittin up all the little sidewalk jumps and stuff on the way. I can still work it pretty good.
Mind you, I get some odd stares from passing cars riding through town with a racing jersey and full face helmet. Greg Hill advises I train in full gear just in case. Yep, I had knee/shin guards under my jeans and a full 661 Pressure suit under my jersey (I have NEVER sweat that much before). When yer 39 and have to work the next day, a wipe out going full tilt across a parking lot at max spin can suck.
Just doing my thing. I was tired when I got home but it felt great.

CrazyCraigMemberOne other cool thing from this past weekend, and I am not making this up:
2nd moto on Sunday I am laying down in staging. Yes, laying down flat on my back. Next to me is the last moto of the first round, some of the younger cruiser dudes.
One of them looks down at me and says “I want to be on your team”.
“That’s great” I say.
Then I ask him “why?”
“Because GHP is cool.”
Boy did that make MY weekend. 🙂
I then asked where he was from and he said NJ. I recalled him asking me at a previous race. I asked his name and immediately knew who he was but I’ll leave him nameless for now ’cause I told him to have his dad come see me.
To get this kind of comment is more a reflection of the team than me fo sure, and it tells me what a great bunch we have.
