By doing this at 10am-ish, we are afforded the best opportunity of limited rider noise, and possibly none for part of it at the Incline Club.

A lot of people said to me “if we have it at the Incline, is there any way to do it without all the background noise” (ie: riders on the ramps). This was the time that allows us to do this. Hopefully there will be less of a distraction to the riders as well, keep their attention, and then move on to eating and riding!

Pawson, hook up with a crew down the shore that weekend and get yer butt over to the Incline at 10am, ‘kay??

And make sure its full face. Just ask Chris Vliet. He was PRACTICING at EHT with only a skater helmet and took a face first digger requiring surgery. He’s alright now, but laying off racing for ahwile because of it.

Rich – sincerely and honestly, I am with you. Talk to Brett, he’ll back me up on this.

Hopefully I can have a more detailed conversation with ya verbally, not pm or online.

sorry about the hijack, just having some fun.

Now back to our regular scheduled program already in process…

I do believe we are on track and have lots of good ideas here, now its just a matter of getting a SIZEABLE group to back this at the state meeting.

Dont worry Bill, I already emailed Clayton and Bob T to add the 21 and Over Keg class. It will be a side hack class, but instead of having some guy hanging on, you’ll be racing with a keg. The goal is to win the race without spilling a drop, with optional refreshment stops. The corner marshalls union is already in favor of it and have volunteered to help lighten the kegs at every turn. —

One of the most fun races I did this year was when Flemington ran the double race during the Grands weekend. It was alot of fun, with alot of good natured trash talkin.

Its all about building a strong volunteer base and letting it be known at the beginning of the year that this is the goal – keep the track open and ready to race during Nats.

Bobby T aint stupid – he knows Bensalem is out, along with the track that went out last year in Delaware. He is looking to stake his territory. Pretty cool getting two Nats again here in NJ/PA. SWEET!

    Stop the nonsense!!

Why not just throw everyone of the same age on the gate and race for the plate. To hell with proficiencies. Race it out!

There you go, proficiency freeze problem solved.

we are just throwing out ideas, thats all, with hopes of making the racing fair and competitive with an eye on continuously growing the sport.

Maybe this might help, or at least spark some more debate:

Make a bigger spread between points for the different classes. I know, this gets messed up when someone is combined all the time.

As stated earlier – make the Championship worth alot more points. Not sure if the one race for the championship will catch on. If you tell everyone all they have to do is show up for 3 or 4 qualifiers and your qualified for the championship, and then only the championship itself decides number 1, you’ll have lots of folks coasting at the races they show up for. Dont take away the competitiveness at the individual races.

Have a proficiency freeze?? No one is allowed to move up from rookie to novice, etc., at the state championship unless actual NBL move-up points dictate.

Whatever is ultimately decided has to be something we think will foster better and better competition for years to come, not just a fix based on our current amount of riders.

Brett, you have the date wrong on the events calendar. Its 12/9, not 12/10.

Hey everyone, I am on the awards committee (for the FIRST time, so dont bash me).

What I have learned from my experience on two committees is the need to have a vision for the FOLLOWING year NOW. If I choose to be involved on the committee again next year, the goal will be to get started on this now, and see what needs to be done to RAISE & allocate more money. Its all about setting goals. I am not taking anything away from what has been done up to now, just stating that I believe we can do more and make next year even better. To do this we need MORE people to step up. You cannot expect the same couple of people to handle this year in year out and then expect a 5 star-over-the-top-blow-your-mind event just because you think its suppose to be that way. In other words, if you are not satisified, then next year lend a hand and help out.

I believe we will deliver a quality event. The main challenge is the three members of the committee live far away from each, but I guess its nice to have one representative each from the north, central and south.

We did look at several ideas for this year and The Incline Club once again was our best choice. The start time was set to accomodate the request I got from ALOT of riders and parents: to have the awards ceremony without any riding going on during that time. According to what I was told, open riding will not start until about 12 noon and we are being given about a 45 minute time frame.

So PLEASE arrive ON TIME so we may start the awards PROMPTLY at 11:15am that day – PLEASE!!! Lets all work together to give this event a positive vibe and build on it for next year, thank you.
