That was actually pretty cool. There were only a few sports mentioned and BMX was one of them. “New to the Olympics, the furious intensity of BMX racing” Furious intensity. I like it.
We just might get some respect out of this shit.
CavemanMemberDaaaaaaamn Timmy. 😆
So let me get this straight. You have seen young kids get hurt with clips so therefore Eric Rupe should not be running clips. Well that makes sense. Why the hell do you care if vet pros run clips?
Honestly, you made more sense when you were quoting the Transformers.
CavemanMemberA REGIONAL?!?!?! In Western Maryland? Please tell me you do not care about that. That would probably be the only race smaller and less consequential than a Hampton, VA regional.
I’ll have a small report on the national at Cedar with video. Phil won both days, Jeremy Smith showed up and won by a million bike lengths, Farside got a flat tire but apparently Bill Hayden put on the real show.
CavemanMemberBut there is one way to solve the problem
It’s a problem? For who?
it seems kinda ludicrous to be racing vet in clips
It IS ludicrous. It’s also ludicrous that vet pros don’t ride Schwinn Stingrays with vinyl pads. Where are my motomags?
It is obvious that he and the older vet’s know how to ride without em
Yes he does “know how” to ride without them but I don’t really know what that means. EVERYBODY “knows how” to ride without them. Are you suggesting it requires more skill to ride without them?
As athletes, BMXers are (hopefully) gonna adopt whatever changes will make them go faster, jump further, etc. If BMX has been around for 30 years and we haven’t progressed at all and we’re still riding the same bikes, doing one footed starts, jumping three foot doubles at twelve mph and following a strict training diet of pizza and chips washed down with Coke we’d be a joke.
If aluminum rims are gonna make me faster than motomags, I’m gonna run aluminum rims. If clips are gonna make me faster than flats, I’m running clips. BMX has adopted innovations from other cycling disciplines (like aheadsets, v-brakes, and clips) and that’s a smart thing to do. It’s only a shame we can’t push the technology envelope and create something that the other disciplines borrow from US.
I can voice how i feel and at least i won’t get banned.
Well you’re banned now. You’re banned from the vet pro class. I’m gonna make sure of it with Clayton this weekend. 😆

CavemanMemberI remember as Phil got older and I was still faster than him. Then he shows up the next spring and he could occasionaly snap me. By the end of that year he totally surpassed me.
There’s only five races left so it’s definitely in your best interest to hit them ALL if you want a shot at top three.

Phil is on his way to becoming AA. Our only chance of beating him is Tom Ballard. Go Tom!

Mr. Weinstetter, you haven’t seen the racing but if Phil Delizia shows up at a race he will win. This series counts your best five races plus the championship. If he gets those in, I’m afraid to say he’s got it. He’s the James Stewart of NJ BMX right now.
CavemanMemberDon’t make me ride my BMX bike across the country and beat you with it. 😆
I haven’t raced yet because I’ve been anouncing. If I don’t go to ABA Vegas or Colorado, I’ll race the next opens.I ain’t gonna blame anyone for not getting the points up yet. I’m still procrastinating about putting my video together from my trip to Spain a month ago.
After Saturday I knew the points went like this
1. Matt Kelty
2. Jeremy Knapper
3. Rich FarsideCavemanMemberYour ABA choices for the weekend are:
York, PA Friday night, Saturday and a Redline Cup Qualifier on Sunday
Cedar Saturday night. (good chance for some secret training for the national)
Milford, DE Saturday night
Lebanon Sunday afternoon

Just don’t tell her bad ass brother. He’ll beat me.CavemanMemberFor points chasers back in the day it was Deptford on Sat morning, Cedar at night, York Sun morning and then Columbia, MD in the afternoon.
Mike, York is burly with a triple so big out of the first turn it would have all the people whining about some little jumps at EHT faint. The turns are paved but they still don’t have that ski lift to get you from the finish back up to the gate. They’re gonna put one in the minute I quit racing, I know it.
I’ll have to check schedules. Some tracks are probably closed because of their Redline Cup.
CavemanMemberYork is bad ass. I may do that. When I was stupid gung ho crazy go nuts for BMX I used to head out there on Wednesday nights for races.
Then there’s also the thought of going up to Cedar to get some secret training in for the national.
CavemanMemberNope. He was tall, had the hair, the sideburns and the glasses. He was probably Elvis’ age too. I’m telling you it was him. On second thought, he was thin so either it wasn’t him or Elvis has lost weight in the afterlife.
CavemanMemberI think the best thing about the weekend was the Elvis sighting.
You don’t have to go to Graceland to see Elvis, just go to Pottstown.
That guy was AUTHENTIC. -
