Yeah, come to think of it, a “course set aside only for the use of bicycles” is the one time YOU NEED to wear a helmet.
And check out turtle dude. He doesn’t have a downtube! He must be riding a Jad!
CavemanMemberNo Chris, you picked a good weekend to get the flu. It was a bad weekend for the old timers. The track was spongy, Brett flipped the gate, Crazy Craig wrecked hard and I wrecked my knee hard going two miles an hour. Be glad you weren’t there. You would have hit a tree or something.
CavemanMemberI would rather have flipped the gate then take that retarded fall I took. My knee is killing me. Walking up and down steps is a chore. We’ll see how I feel tomorrow.
Tomorrow I’ll have some fun shots up you’ll all enjoy.
CavemanMemberWell kiss my grits. Ham is right. 2002.
Yeah that was my worst wreck. It hurt to sneeze for two weeks after that.
Now if only it wouldn’t rain tomorrow. @#!$&* rain!
CavemanMember“hot broads” I haven’t heard that since I watched Alice.
Actually that shot was taken in May of 2003 at the Mullica Hill regional two months after my nuclear blast of a wreck.
Gotta run. Gonna go out tonight and find some hot broads.
Kiss my grits.
CavemanMemberI don’t know. How about anybody on the Hutch team? Too old school for me.
CavemanMemberHam = looking to get his ass kicked for starting a thread about Flemington’s opening day and then being the only guy not to show up.
(Ham*beer) + announcing = I don’t know what it equals but I’d sure like to see it.
CavemanMemberRich Carolan is a proponent of the 26″ wheel. Ask him. Or use this formula: (Chainwheel / freewheel) * (PI * wheel diameter) That’ll tell you how far your bike will travel for one crank revolution. For example a 44/16 on a 20″ = (44/16) * (3.1416* 20) = 172.78 inches (14’5″) for one crank revolution. Looks like a 38/18 on a 26″ is close.
CavemanMemberBill, does that mean your wife will be out at the track? Racing? Wearing those leathers? Mmmmmmmmm.
Flemington is my new home track.
CavemanMemberIt’s true. He can’t jump doubles. Ha! But that is ballsy that you tried the big ones at Howell on a day like that! With the rain and the look of that backside, I figured I’d wait till another day.
I don’t know how to explain boosting a set of doubles because you can’t really teach it. When you’re relaxed you’re body will be positioned right and you can use the lip to the max advantage and just boost it. If you’re tense, you just can’t get that boost off the lip you need. You’ll skim one foot above the jump in a dead sailor and come up short. But you can’t force yourself to be relaxed. (kind of an oxymoron isn’t it? Relax Damnit!) It just comes over time. You just have to do it alot to get comfortable with it.
CavemanMemberExcept for the rain it was an awesome time. I am WAY down with the big jumps. With the lip on that big double you could make it 5 feet longer and still clear it.
Richie Rich got the cruiser main on video so hopefully we can get that up. Rich, don’t forget to send it to me. What a squirrel fest! lol
Good times.
CavemanMemberListen to Pawlowski giving me grief. There was rain forecasted. I came. It started raining, I kept racing. Don’t you worry about the Caveman. He’s got it under control. ;-p
Ham. WTF?!?!?!?! All this talk about Flemington on Saturday and who’s the ONE guy that doesn’t show up?
CavemanMemberWhen the kids said they wanted something big at the track, they meant me. And I won’t let my public down. I’ll be there. Thank you, thank you.
21 footers on the 4th straight?!?!?! Why not put them on the climb from the finish back up to the starting hill when we’re COMPLETELY dead? We need to have an award for someone who hits them EVERY moto.
So I guess I shouldn’t go out drinking tonight?
CavemanMemberWould this be a bad time to tell a little diddy ’bout Dave and Diane?
Two American kids growing up in the heartland…..It would? Okay, I won’t say anything 😈
If we were really hardcore we’d go to Cedar afterwards! One time I raced a double header at Flemington and then raced Cedar just so I could say I raced three times in one day. In the main at Cedar, I came around the last turn and my legs SHUT DOWN. They said, “You’re ready to go home NOW, mister!”
Oh, for the good old days……
CavemanMemberI think I got the avatar down. If not I’ll use photobucket. I just want to remind Bill who’s boss every time I post. Heh, heh.
I can’t WAIT to see my girlfriend. It’s been a long time. She’s so hot. -
