Oh that ain’t Braddock.
I need a scanner too. I took tons of pictures back in the day.
I bought Joe Kid on a Stingray today and that made me happy but Bubba Stewart just got second in Dallas so I’m pissy again.
By the way, central Jersey sucks too. Ha! 😆
CavemanMemberSupercross is good. Especially if Bubba wins. Chris rocks! That’s cause he was from Deptford. All those Braddock guys sucked!
CavemanMemberDude, beer sucks, clips aren’t gay, people that DON’T ride clips are gay, South Jersey rules, North Jersey sucks, Ant, you’re going down and Bill, the changes you made at Flemington suck!
Bring it on! 😆
CavemanMemberChris, so this is all your fault!?!?!?!? 😆
And you call yourself a Deptford local? I’m shocked.
That does it, you and your son both get it next time I announce at EHT. 😆
Yeah, I remember my first race. One piece cranks, front brakes, and a pie plate. And I wasn’t clipped in either. My secret weapon was my chrome checkered pads.CavemanMemberDamn Brett. What’d you go and do that for? Get better soon.
CavemanMemberActually I thought they were from PA.
That’s okay. DE still sucks. Ha!
You know if Pottstown and NJ went ABA the whole NY, eastern PA, NJ, DE, MD area would be an ABA stronghold.
Ham, you should have raced Mullica around 2000. The parents used to drink there. And they didn’t wait till the races were over either!
CavemanMemberSo the Slifers were from DE? No wonder they sucked. Ha!
Yeah Craig, you’d probably get rocks thrown at you for talking ABA. Us Braddock and Deptford guys prefer ABA but most people in NJ now have never raced ABA. NBL is all they know and they have no desire to switch. Bensalem went ABA years ago. Then they were considering going back. Thank God they didn’t. Of course what we really need is ONE sanction but that’s a whole other topic.
Where was I? Oh yeah. Down with career rookies!
CavemanMemberOne of the many reasons I’m glad I grew up ABA. There is no incentive to stay down a class. I wanted to work my way up to expert more than anything. I moved up to intermediate within my first 9 races and then struggled to turn expert but I did it.
Dale, who was that guy you used to race named Barry Sliefert or something like that? He was a career novice wasn’t he? Winning all the races he could and then sandbagging when he got close to turning ex. What a loser.
I’d like to think BMX appeals to people that want to challenge themselves and see how far they can push themselves. Not for people that want an easy win to feel better about themselves.
22 national finishes for a 17 rookie. Can you say loser?
CavemanMemberI wouldn’t say F the Olympics. “If” they broadcast BMX during primetime it could generate interest. That’s basically what everybody is hoping for. Millions of people that don’t even know the word BMX would see it for the first time. If millions of people saw BMX as part of the Olympics they might think BMX is an international sport to be taken seriously. Not just an “extreme” sport with just a small cult-like following.
But that’s just it. I don’t think it will be shown primetime. It’ll be buried at 2am on a Tuesday night and very few people will see it.
What’s wrong with putting the NJ series on TV? That would be a good thing. I’ve envisioned that. I’ve seen some dumb-ass, boring high school sports on cable access and thought, if this stuff can be on, BMX definitely can!
CavemanMemberThere’s an awful lot we’re supposed to be afraid of right now. I for one am not worried.
I predict the Iraqi insurgents will all die of avian bird flu, the Iranians will nuke the oil companies only to be raped by two Duke university lacrosse players and then the Mexicans immigrants will come in and rebuild the refineries for cheap.
Problem solved. Now if you don’t mind, I have to call tech support in India about my made in China computer I bought from Walmart so I can check the news to see how many people have been killed in Israel…… All while wearing clip shoes.
CavemanMemberContestant: I’ll take Olympics for 400.
Alex Trebek: Answer, the time BMX will be broadcast during the 2008 Olympics
Contestant: What is 2am on a Tuesday?
CavemanMemberHmmm, EHT. Tore my ACL there, faceplanted there and spent three days in the hospital, wrecked my hand there last year, and wrecked last night. Why do I keep going back?
Let’s see, this year I’ve already wrecked at CJ and EHT but I’ve won twice at Flemington so Flemington’s my favorite right now. And if Hayden would bring his wife it would be my bestest favorite. 😈
Chris. I absolutely HAVE to see those videos from the Dustbowl.
CavemanMemberDamn Dave. I didn’t know you raced the Dustbowl! Did I? I guess that has to be my favorite. It’s where I started, turned inter, turned expert.
I’ve only raced six tracks in NJ. Deptford, Braddock, Flemington, CJ, Mullica and Egg Harbor.
Back in 97 and 98 when NJ BMX was at a high again Friday nights at Mullica were the bomb! It was a freakin party every friday night and I was king. I would announce, win all my races. Good times.
CavemanMemberMy favorite track? Gotta be the Deptford Dustbowl. Ha!
CavemanMemberLet’s see, with Flemington and the double header at Egg Harbor this is my chance to race two classes at three races in one day! Assuming no mains, that would be 18 hot laps. That’s got to be some kind of record!
I think my knee is healed enough. I was just starting to walk up and down steps on Wednesday. Brett Snyder and I are planning to hit Flemington and Egg Harbor.
Rock!
