Mmmmm, water holes. Never jumped one. So you could to a Rod and Rex and pimp the competition into the water hole? Sweet.
It looks from the videos that 18-21 x is just as fast as pro, and 35-39 cruiser, and 35+over x are very close behind. I didn’t check any other classes. The real difference is first straight pull for getting out in front. It’s possible that 16x’s have the same track speed as pros but they’d get shut down out of the gate.
Sorry Jess, didn’t get 30-34. Turns out I have more than enough memory on my card too. Next time.
CavemanMemberWhy are you going to go all the way to Brazil to race Frank Young? You could probably just race him at Egg Harbor.
CavemanMemberYes Jesse it is who you think it is and you have seen a lot of them because it’s you! Ha! I agree. We all like JD but nobody likes you. So clean up your act. No more 6th place finishes. Keep it up and we’ll get Pawson to smack you down. 😆
CavemanMemberI was so busy being negative I forgot the positive side. While NJ BMX doesn’t need just one person we also have no desire to alienate ANYONE. Tell them you will ban them if they cause trouble but you don’t want that. You want them to race and have fun and be a contributing participant.
And if anyone is banned that fact should be advertised and for years to come to serve as a reminder and a deterrent so it doesn’t happen again. If you don’t know your history you are bound to repeat it.
CavemanMemberGive them ONE warning. They are just one person. If they only represent one rider, NJ BMX will get along just fine without them. This is a volunteer sport and nobody in NJ gets paid to do this. To cause trouble for volunteers is ridiculous. Running a track is difficult enough. There’s no time for people causing trouble.
Kevin Czekalski who did a brilliant job running Cedar BMX in PA just posted here saying he quit after 23 years because he couldn’t deal with troublesome parents. When volunteers quit because of troublesome people, BMX loses. That shouldn’t happen. The troublemakers should go, not the volunteers.
Confront the person, lay out the charges and give them one warning. Tell them that NJ BMX doesn’t need them to survive and will actually be better off without them. If they have vandalized the track then to ban them without warning would be sure to make them do it again, only much worse.
We’re trying to make this sport better. There’s no time for stuff like this.
CavemanMemberUnderclassed BMXers Riding Clips. it’ll be a sanction specifically for well, you guessed it with 35 national weekends.
Union of BMX and RC cars. The first sanction to actually turn a profit at local races by running both BMX and RC cars on the same track. The old guys that want to go back to the 80’s tracks will flock to it.
Underage BMX Racer Chicks. I won’t be elligible to compete but hell yeah, I will go to EVERY race!
Urban BMX Rapper Class. Races followed by best gangsta rap wins. Yes, yes, ya’ll.
Utopian BMX Racing Confederation. BMX with 70 moto local races, 700 tracks, $25 national entry fees, TV coverage, our OWN Olympics, no cherrypickers, slingshotters, players, haters, or whiners. And it will all start here. In New Jersey. Amen.
CavemanMemberCheck a thread On Vintage BMX about results from EHT for Saturdays results. Results for Saturday and Sunday were pretty much the same for pro and pro girls (From now on I’m going to use ABA vocabulary no matter what sanction I’m talking about. Stupid NBL changes the names every year. They’ll change them again next year.) I don’t know who won pro yesterday. It was too close at the line.
I’ve got video taken with my digital camera of pro and pro girls Sat and Sun, Saturday’s 35-39 cruiser, Sunday’s 35+over x, 22-29x, 18-21x. Brett, want me to upload them?
Big changes from Sat to Sun were Farside hit the gate and did not win 35+ over x, Phil got 2nd in 18-21x. Busto won 17x both days. I did jack both days.
Crazy national. Lots of things that aren’t supposed to happen, happened. Ten more motos than the Easter Classic. Tony Spencer takes out Gonz in the first moto on Saturday and Gonz’s hands got shredded.
Another Caveman bitch about the NBL. Every single national for the past 25 years ams have been sneaking in pro practice and Bob comes up to the gate and makes idle threats about disqualifying people which I’m sure he has NEVER done. That’s why they keep doing it. What a joke. Know what the ABA does? Color coded number plates. Pros run black plates. Problem solved. How easy is that? Anybody see how I made Brett Snyder pay for sneaking in pro practice? hee hee.
I will say the race started on time both days and actually ran quickly which is unusual and impressive.
April 27, 2006 at 4:52 pm in reply to: MARK EATON IS THE MAN!!!!!!!!! JOE KIDD IN SOUTH JERSEY #30324CavemanMemberI’m torn between seeing Joe Kid and Stick It. One has dorky kids wearing helmets and the other has dirty little 16 year olds wearing leotards. Hmmmmmmm.
CavemanMemberI have to agree with Bill on this one. Getting the NBL (or the ABA) to change would take an act of God. They’re pretty proud of the way they do things and see no reason to change.
Especially Bob Tedesco. In 97 at the Tampa national some pros were talking to him in the pits about things that should be changed and what not and he had an answer for everything. Basically he had no desire to listen to what they had to say. I relayed that story to Danny Nelson and he said Clayton John is the same way.
Tedesco isn’t going to listen to one person. I would go so far as to say if the whole state of NJ came forward with an idea it still wouldn’t be enough to make him move.
What’s the answer? I don’t know. Brett you’re right, this is OUR sport and if we think the people in charge are doing a bad job we can and should do something about it. I just don’t know what that is…. yet.
CavemanMemberYeah as long as the NBL exists and gives state, regional and national titles to rookies there will be sandbaggers looking for a cheap win.
CavemanMemberHe’s alive. And he’ll be at EHT. Rock!
CavemanMemberWhat time does the party start on Thursday? I can make it out then.
CavemanMemberActually the bowl is not still there. In all my boredom I drove by there on the way home from Action Wheels. I remember for years after the track was plowed, there were still some tires sticking out of the ground that used to line the straights. They’re gone now and there’s a building on top of it. It was wild to drive through old Charles Fasola park again.
The new ABA track is going to be Braddock. Ha! It’s going to have the same old flat gate with 6 inch drop off down to the track.
Where were we? Oh yeah. Down with career rookies!
CavemanMemberWow, I’ve always known the NBL is completely disorganized but this is ridiculous. They don’t even know how many races you’ve won? It’s a wonder they get the national points right. Maybe its because their rules are so convoluted and retarded. At least when I started in ABA a win was a win. If you were a novice racing intermediates, you got intermediate points. But if you got 2nd, you got 2nd. Real easy to figure out.
CavemanMemberNo, no Bill. A hug from your wife. I think you’re onto something.
Okay, I’ll try the Chris method too. Take a picture of a printed photograph with a digital camera. Here we have My buddy Tom Donahue from Philly and some Braddock intruder at Deptford in 89.
Dude, I really need a scanner. I’ve got two boxes full of photos. The shots from the 89 Quaker States at York alone could have people drooling for days.
