when did they get rid of the jacket? danny has a few of them but in recent years didnt chase state points ( not becuase of the jacket) but just to let someone else have a shot at a title for a change… so i dont remember when they did away with that..?
i think they replaced the jacket with free presidents cup entry? why does that stick in my head? but then again what happens when the rider dosnt go to pres cut..nah that cant be it…
i think in ny they do #1 gets pres cup entry plus room in ohio. ct gives each rider who gets #1 awards dinner for free plus pres cup.
also like glen said the # of locals maybe too much.. what is the amt pa has to do in order to race the pa state championship? i know a few yrs ago a friend of ours from pa said dan could do pa state series as they only had to do 2-3 locals and if they double up you can get it in 1 weekend.
but then again the purpose of the whole thing is to get more riders to local tracks right so how does decreasing the # locals help that situation?
maybe that survey with specific questions for parents/ riders is the way to go… hand out at state champ and collect there too… and for a couple of weeks afterwards..
great idea
bmxmom156Memberlike brett said…
but there is more to it than the end result… no one is in it just for the points or the plate ( at some point after all these yrs)
its the journey along the way…. the competition and growth that occurs because of the above….
i guess everyone has their reasons for racing or not racing… but here in nj with the talent we have there seems to be no reason for not racing the state series…. maybe if the prices were more reasonable it would help???
something to bring up next meeting? maybe
bmxmom156Memberi dont understand why so many ppl didnt qualify for the championship in class..??where are all the little dudes ( 5 under?) i guess they will have to have a 5 under open??
with all the extra races the tracks had plus having the championship later this yr(oct instead of aug) why are there only 3 riders in 17-24x? this is baffling to me when there are semis at the qualifiers…

bmxmom156Memberif someone can get a pic blown up ( i stink at these techy things) i dont mind going around with it on sat to get everyones signatures on it for him. im sure i can take it somewhere to have it cardboard mounted/ framed …we did this many yrs ago for a boy on our state team who was dx with leukemia and his dad said he hung it on his wall and he loved it!!

bmxmom156MemberAccording to Roosevelt’s principal speechwriter Judge Samuel Rosenman, he first used “fireside chats” in 1929 during his first term as Governor of New York. Roosevelt faced a conservative Republican legislature so during each legislative session he would occasionally address the citizens of New York directly. He appealed to them for help getting his agenda passed. Letters would pour in following each of these “chats,” which helped pressure legislators to pass measures Roosevelt had proposed. He began making the informal addresses as President on March 12, 1933, during the Great Depression.
