is there traditionally a pro/am open that day also? or just class?
trying to remember if they had one last yr???
thanks craig for posting the form
bmxmom156Membercraig you are correct …that is a good idea( previous post) nowadays its rare to have more than 15 in a class so i doubt the state would have that problem(would be nice though wouldnt it?). we used to fight for the top 10 or 15 to be “elegible” to represent nj at the pres cup years ago…
bmxmom156Membernope
doing howell on 14th/ pit bike race for support of breast cancer research
have to pick and choose sometimes i guess
bmxmom156Memberyou know the little bikes that kids ride before they get their training wheels off? usually its a 16″ bike… anything that has 16″ wheels… dans bike he likes the best is actually a 12 ” with 16″ wheels.. he went to a garage sale a couple of yrs ago and took 5 little bikes( 5 for $5 was a bargain too good to pass up) and and took the parts off them and made 3 bikes.
some people use larger frames and just stick 16″ wheels on them( although some ppl think that is kind of cheating… dosnt matter really)
the bigger guys look like clowns on these little bikes. they actually sell them in the bike shops im sure they are expensive but most ppl use the garage sale/ or kmart brand and just clean them up…. a little creativity and a can of spray paint goes a long way…..
but the little guys are a hoot to watch they actually look “normal” on them
bmxmom156Memberhey whos bringing a pit bike this weekend? any old 16″ bike will do… get out to those garage sales tomorrow and bring one with you on sunday… its for a good cause so i want to see all the older riders on one this weekend…(i heard even dale is building his “secret weapon” as we speak)
october is breast cancer awareness month…
1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer ( 12%) …we can all help out by showing our support!! everyone knows someone who has been affected by this disease.
thanks to cjbmx for providing this opportunity
bmxmom156Memberyou are coming with gabe for the big pit bike race right??? he missed the last one we will have an extra bike in case anyone needs one…
bmxmom156Membercrown plaza is right across the street from hyatt with a connecting tunnel thing to walk thru. you have to wear a jacket but its not as if uyou are going outside really…you can walk outside to get there but you dont have to… use the tunnel
the crown plaza has an awesome ice cream bar place in the lobby… i think it used to be hagan dazzzz. can yousay gain 10 lbs in one weekend?? yummm!! the rooms are just as nice as the hyat with out the fire alarms going off all night… just a little farther to walk..
oh and that sports bar is right next door… i forget the name where you play the games against other tables?? geesh i am gettin old…lol
i know some stayed at the hampton across the street from the hyatt but it was the same price as the hyatt so why go out in the cold if you dont have to.
havent heard anything about drury but they are usually very nice and ALWAYS give out free coupons for free drinks…. happy hr or so mething like that… they did it in louisville when we stayed there for the grands a few yrs ago…
bmxmom156Memberwhat is the pro class like in aba? is it the same as nbl? do they have a and aa pro?( i mean superclass/ a pro) do they still have money opens like the ones the nbl just got rid of?
can someone explain all this and qualifications? thanks…
bmxmom156Memberi think its an nbl rule with the 16 over money class anyway…tell them to keep racing they will turn sooner or later…lol something to look fwd to. i know the feeling.. thats all iheard for a year…”cant wait to be able to race the opens…” yada yada… its a great thing and gives them something to aspire to…
bmxmom156Memberbrett can you send that pic you posted on the website into the bt for next months mag?…( the elite 8 pic on the website) would be great for promo for next yr…may attract riders from outside the area if more knew about it?? just a thought…
bmxmom156Membergreat video editing brett … you have done wonders even with the shakey lens…lol
bmxmom156Memberwhat a great idea….all in one place!
bmxmom156Memberi second that nomination (rich)
bmxmom156Memberi think they tried to separate the teams into ones that allowed pro/or factory riders on it and the other catagory was rookie/ nov teams.. i think it eventually became combined as there were not enough teams to be separated…
bmxmom156Memberok here goes.. this is just a thought maybe there are probs with it but here goes anyway
the state series aka end result / finals for the local racing scene for the season… is mostly made up of rookies and novices correct? many experts are doing nationals on the weekends and the co mplaint is always how do you keep the tracks open when the other riders are going to nats…… so its really for the rookies and novs and experts who dont do nationals…
this is not a post about how many nationals there are so forge arguing about that..
if the state series you want to include mostly rookies/ novs why not allow teams to have whatever amt of rookies novs they want? i know years ago there was a prob with “all rookie teams” and with the new change of move up points i cant see a rider staying rookie forever so bagging should be out of the picture also…
if the state team series would allow ANY number of rookies on a team( also novs) would this encourage more teams to start up thus using more rookies/ novs and keeping them racing at different tracks( doing the series) ? then maybe there would be more at the championship?
kids like being on a team, adds to the excitement.
this is just a thought not well thought out just repeating a conversation i had with someone last weekend on the subject. i agree with dave on this one… if a kid gets excited about being on a team then its served its purpose. the kid asks to go to the race more often, and races more…
any thoughts? also i kind of like the no looking at the moto sheets its like a crap shoot… never actually thought of it that way i know the aba( so im told) uses that team sheet method) how does it work actually? sounds interesting… but with us we use moto points do they only use main points?
