another idea during the practice maybe you can get one of the “local pros” to do an hr or so clinic if there is the need… im sure if you make it reasonable you would get a crowd.( like $5) the kids really appreciate it, not everyone does all the nationals… ea track that stays open for gate practice can enlist their own “pro” or older rider to do the clinic…
bmxmom156Memberoh i know everyone will be disappointed we wont get to see you in your snoopy costume..
😥bmxmom156Memberit is hypnotic…isnt it?
where did you get him?
bmxmom156Membercan you list the specifications for each event/ whole series?
does it depend on the amt of $ donated? for example is it like $200/per qualifier thus if there are 4 qualifiers then $1000 would get your the entire series ( incl championship)??
or can it be done in smaller increments? what exactly is the set up that you used last yr if you dont mind posting it in general? some folks may want to start small and see how it works then move up to a larger sponsorship….
thanks..
bmxmom156Memberconcession menu???

October 25, 2007 at 11:32 am in reply to: Maximum amount of qualifiers, locals and points for state #51648bmxmom156Memberstewie has a point…
if the qualifiers ran like a nat (mains for all)it would definitely increase the competitiveness…
i like it …but how would that work with such small classes? most have 4 kids racing in class(at the most) now you drop 1 that makes 3 in a main?
any thoughts on this? the less combinig= smaller pure classes= less kids in a main. cant have 2 man mains that kind of defeats the purpose.
bottom line we have to get more riders to the qualifiers..it used to be that you didnt miss one unless you were away on vacation or something…lol how can we make the qualifiers worth more?
October 25, 2007 at 3:32 am in reply to: Maximum amount of qualifiers, locals and points for state #51641bmxmom156Memberwow i didnt realise there were all these complications with the younger guys.. when my son was in those classes we had min 5-9 riders in class/ had mains, etc and they all fought for every point they could get. we did all the qualifiers there was no “just to qualify” it was “your best 4 or whatever the number was” as you wanted to get all perfects if you had the opportunity to “earn the state champ title” and boy it was a fight too…lol (some of the parents were the ones with the gloves on fighting for the title…lol) if you were 2 points under the #1 guy you can be sure that kid was going to be at the next qual to go for it…..
anyway my point is whatever makes it competitive and fair. like somone said earn the title. you will never please everyone but if more riders participate then there will be less combining thus more kids stay in thier own age and dont get bumped up. there should be no reason for this at a qualifier ( locals maybe yes but you should always have a pure class at a state race) at least i would hope in a perfect bmx world…
how else can we get more riders to do every qualifier not just the ones at thier own track? maybe thats a possibility.
bmxmom156Memberjim i would go to the njbmxforums site. there should be a link off njbmx.org( at least there used to be)
i think i saw the state points posted there under state info. i believe you got #1 so you definitely get something ( is it gear bags this yr? sounds cool)
bmxmom156Memberno the hc jackets are typically given out at another place and date specifically for this track only. each track does their own track awards ceremony.
i would like to know if anyone knows if the next state meeting is going to be held after the awards banquet? isnt that when it was held last yr?
i will email lisa heath tonight but craig if you know already can you post since you seem to be the one with the knowlege lately —
October 25, 2007 at 1:44 am in reply to: Maximum amount of qualifiers, locals and points for state #51633bmxmom156Memberso that i am understandng what you are proposing…is it when riders are combined an age up that they are getting screwed? like 7x with 8 x? as i was under the impression when the novice gets combined with the x the novs get x points so in fact THEY are the ones who are at the advantage ( 2nd place nov racing a 1st place x is equal to a first place nov so in effect the nov gets a perfect) follow me? it used to be that the novs would go to where they WERE combined with xperts so they can get the x points… i dont know if they changed it recently this was when dan was 8 or so and it was a large class and they fought for every point they could get.
i like the clean slate idea.. but should a state champion be only based on 1 race? so if the rider has a bad day or bad gate in the main its all over? that has to be thought thru.
i like the change of points ideas the moms are comming up with would like to hear some more complaints by that i mean… ie give examples of what happened this yr that you want it to be changed… i just want to know how the system has changed ( we havnt been watching points for a while so thats why i ask) thanks for your patience and thank god there is new blood that are interested in getting involved… hallaluya!!
October 24, 2007 at 10:04 pm in reply to: Maximum amount of qualifiers, locals and points for state #51608bmxmom156Memberyes stewies ideas are good
4 qualifiers and 6 locals sound great. i think the triple pt championship would def encourage more to do the final race. we have to try to get everyone to do the championship race or whats the point of the series?
also let anyone race the championship regardless…. not forcing them to race open only.
bmxmom156Memberi just looked- all my hc championship pics are downloaded on bretts laptop. i didnt save them thinking i gave them to brett..
check with him to see if he kept the stewie pics. there were at least 5-6 of them with the little guys next to him… kinda cute!
bmxmom156Memberthats true what kev said. i remember when dan was 5 nov there were none so he was always combined with 6-7 yr olds it didnt bother him at all( he loved chasing them anyway)
since we have an abundance of 4 yr olds who will be 5 ( assuming next season) they really will be a true 5 under class so that makes the 7 under closer in age. ( does that make sense?)
bmxmom156Membersounds great!!
