$15 per class. Money goes to the Scholarship fund.

    😀

$10 for last in class, pretty good, but the cost of bribes have gone way up. I’ve gotta pay for gas too. 😉

Jeff Morgan organized an NBL vs ABA series a couple years ago between Flemington and Bensalem. Wasn’t able to attend but heard it was fun.

You can always do Tuesday night at EHT if you can’t make this weekend at either of the other tracks. Flemington on Saturday though is their Warnicke race. Double points if it is your only or your best of any of them.

The 2nd place guy gets the title cause he/she made the effort and earned it. The guy who hits umpteen races but can’t be bothered, or is unable for other reasons to qualify earns the hi-point award.
Never ever going make everyone happy no matter what you do.
No qualifications=someone is going to be unhappy cause it isn’t earned.
Few qualifications=someone is going to be unhappy cause they don’t think they should have to “qualify.”
Lots to qualify=someone is going to be unhappy cause they can’t make the required number.
Every state does the best they can to strike an acceptable middle ground.
As you can see above we are somewhere in the middle of all the states that I looked up.
Also, according to the rules-NBL-you have to have qualifiers and a designated championship. The rest is up to each state. And agree with them or not, they are our sanctioning body and we must abide by the rules.

Each rider must decide for themselves if they want to run the State Series, Regionals, Nationals, etc. Unfortunately due to the number of hours, days, etc. that there are in a calendar, nobody is going to be able to do it all to their very best. It’s up to you (the rider) to decide what is your priority.

This year is the easiest on record for qualifying, but if anyone can tell me the perfect schedule, one that every rider, parent, track director, etc. will agree and adhere to, I will be the first to propose it to the board.

To play a little devil’s advocate here, how many of you or your kids ever played soccer, little league, ballet, or any other sport, or activity? Was their schedule always convenient? Did you occassionally have to rearrange your schedule to make it to a game or tournament, recital or rehearsal? Did you always agree with the way that the teams qualified for the tournaments? Did you always agree with who got the lead in the recital or play? Chances are no. I know on my end, practices were certainly at inconvenient times, had to reschedule a few vacations for tournaments. Couldn’t believe that Team B made the playoffs when Team A had a better record, but missed the one qualifying game due to a couple key players being injured. But, it wasn’t life or death. We got over it and moved on. And we made the schedule adjustments because while involved, the practices, games, tournaments, etc. were the priority.

FYI Here are the state series qualifications from some of the other states.

State Series Rules from other states:
California: Must compete in 6 of the State Qualifiers. Those riders racing in fewer than 6 qualifiers can only race the Championship in Open Class.
Nevada: Award of State Ranking will be based on each rider’s BEST five (5) State Series points, plus the State Championship final race points, and contingent upon verification that the rider has participated in a minimum of eight 8 local races. For the benefit of Riders who have emergencies or other pressing obligations we are allowing One(1-maximum) of your qualifiers to be Non-Participating Qualifiers, with Zero (0) points, at the $30.00 Fee.
Arizona: you must race 2 of the 3 qualifiers and the championship.
Alabama: you must race 5 locals and 2 state qualifiers.
Georgia: 2 State Qualifiers and 8 local races.
Ohio: YOU WILL NEED SIX QUALIFIERS TO RACE THE FINAL. WE WILL USE YOUR BEST SIX QUALIFIERS.
Virginia: In order to participate for Virginia State Series rankings, a rider must also compete in at least four (4) of the State Qualifier events listed above
Indiana: 2 of the 3 qualifiers.
    Pennsylvania: 4 qualifiers.

    Thanks Debbie for the support.

For everyone else, specially Paul, I had no problem at all with your questions, they were legit. Realize that the multitude of series can be confusing, and that we probably should have spelled out a exactly which races do and do not count for the very new, and the coming back from a long layoff rider. Will fix for next season. Hey, like everyone else, I learn, or at least try to learn, something new everyday. 🙂

Like I said, I was feeling beat down, and sorry for myself earlier and let the mouth (fingers) overrule the head. I should have pouted had a milkshake then typed.

Sorry guys, most of you are very supportive of the work being done by all of the volunteers in the state.

ah, see, ya miss a race and miss all the uproar. Near fist fight, lots of screaming, couple people called out, parents stepping in to stop the near melee. I’m more hated than before. 8)
    shoulda been there.

ps: started as a rider disagreement, then grew from there.

Everyone: Sorry for my earlier post. I’ve taken a beating the past couple weeks with move-ups, shortages, etc. and of course for those that were there last night, the mini A-bomb explosion. Was feeling a bit sorry for myself and unleashed on you all. 😳
Again, my apologies. I’m feeling better now.

Sorry. It’s been a rough couple weeks on the clerking front.

Just figure everyone is ready for me to go. I can’t live up to the expectations of the riders and parents. I’m obviously not meticulous enough in stating rules, times, dates, etc.
Hopefully if I do step down, the next clerk will be as willing to do everything that I do, plus the “so much more” that everyone wants. And will have a hide as thick as is needed to do this job. Mine is wearing thin.

I am seriously considering stepping down next year though.
Love the sport, will continue to attend when daughter has time, but just tired…

I don’t have a copy, but can get one. Every track has a copy (if they can find them).
