Woodward is nice for the most part. Been there for the last 2 Reg. Champs. Track is small, tight, and narrow. 2nd year better than first.
Hotels are all at least 30-40 minutes from the track. Track food is just so so, fairly expensive, and only served during limited hours. Race workers couldn’t get dinner because they had closed before the end of the race.
Cabins are nice if you have a group.
Parking is literally about a mile from the track if you follow the paths and roadways. All up hill from the track. Pack what you need trackside in something on wheels.bmxgirlmomMemberJust booked mine too.
bmxgirlmomMemberI think a couple of the CT Regionals a couple years ago were 100+.
Of course, a couple years ago, they were all bigger 😀South Park used to be 300+ motos for the National now we think their doin great to get 180.
EHT used to get 70+ for a local.
I guess it is all relative.
I had a blast at CJ this weekend.
bmxgirlmomMemberI think it is in the 90+ moto count area to be considered a larger Regional. 100+ to be large.
bmxgirlmomMember67 +/- motos on Saturday 53 +/- on Sunday. 51 mains on Saturday 43 on Sunday.
Pretty small, but the mains were almost completely filled with NJ riders!
Way to go guys and girls!
bmxgirlmomMemberPresident’s Cup details are pretty simple;
Finish in top 15 for your class (pretty much means everyone).
Order NJ Jersey.
Show up and race for NJ at President’s Cup.
Get check back for jersey cost and your entry fee for the race.Used to be that you picked up your Jersey at the President’s Cup and your uncashed check was in the bag with it. Then you would get a check in the mail after the race for your entry fee.
Left over jerseys were then sold on a first come first served basis.
bmxgirlmomMemberI totally agree, this windows program was supposed to be out and available for at least the last 7 or 8 years, but has never come to be. I have a feeling though that this may actually be the year. Only reason I say that is that it is actually in use at some tracks throughout, never gotten this far yet. Still bugs, yes, but…
1.Would I have liked to see it a long time ago? Yes
2.Do I think that we have been working on stone age equipment? Yes
3.Do I agree 100% with the NBL? No
4.Do I have to deal with it all? Yes, because my kid/kids like to race.
5.Do I like the people involved in the NBL? For the most part I’ve been treated decently.
6.Do I get frustrated with lack of answers, slow responses, etc? Yes, but reread #4.
7.Would I do things differently? Maybe, but not having been at the beginning, don’t know what would have evolved differently had others been doing it.So, I do like most people do who are involved in anything for their kids, I do the best I can with what I have, and play by the rules, because that’s what there is.
bmxgirlmomMemberNBL has the new windows program. It is being tested all over the country and seems to be working pretty good. Notice how fast results are being posted this year? That’s the windows program.
Should be going out to all tracks for next season I would think.
They used it at the EHT national and I thought it did a good job. Had the Dos program running as back up in case there was a problem, but didn’t need it.
Only glitches right now seem to be in the Elite and Junior Elite classes. Keeps wanting to lump them all together.
UCI is having same type of problems with the Elites and Juniors and they run a totally different program so it may not be the program per se, but something else entirely.bmxgirlmomMemberThe hoodies are relatively inexpensive and are the awards for the #1 rider in each class. That is the award that they earned.
The jerseys are available for anyone going to the President’s Cup. They get reimbursed for their jersey and race fee if they show up.
If you’re not going to the race, but still want a jersey, then yes, you should have to purchase it. The cost of the jersey is very high so giving them away to every rider would be an expense that the state could not cover unless we did away with plates, hoodies, banquet, entry fee reimbursement for the riders who go to the Cup, trophies, place plates for the plaques, etc. All would have to go to cover free jerseys for all.
Not all of the #1 riders go to the President’s Cup for whatever reason, and to not reward them with a hoodie, or jacket, etc. would be telling them that their accomplishment wasn’t worth noting. Most of them do not want yet another jersey that they’ll never wear, since they wear their sponsor, or team jerseys at every race.
Every state that I know of awards a #1 jacket to their riders. Last year our (NJ) riders chose to have hoodies instead of jackets. They told us that they had enough jackets, but wore hoodies all the time and that’s what they wanted.Sorry guys, I have to disagree with you on this one.
I’ve been in it for 9years (I know I’m a newbie)but we have always had to purchase a jersey if we weren’t going to the Pres. Cup. And some years we weren’t allowed to have one if we weren’t going. Because they only ordered for the attendees.bmxgirlmomMemberHad a good time. Worked as usual, but nice weather and good group.
Wish it had been bigger, for CJs benefit.bmxgirlmomMemberAll taken care of. He’ll be back Tuesday and will be reminded. Not as easy as just sending a disc. There are a lot of things that go along with it to get it set up and working for your particular situation. Funky program!
bmxgirlmomMemberDaily????
Boy wouldn’t that po the most patient person. I know it sure would me.
A simple phone call should suffice.bmxgirlmomMemberHave Lisa, Scott or Vinnie call Les to remind him about the program. With the hours he works at his real job and the hours he puts in at the track, some things are bound to slip by.
I can probably throw together some sort of standings for CJ and bring them up this weekend. I’ll see what I can do. I was missing moto sheets from the Warnicke though, so it may not be completely accurate. Lisa is going to give me those this weekend.
Janeen
bmxgirlmomMemberThat was the general idea…suck them in with awards and they’ll stay forever 😆
bmxgirlmomMemberFlorida Championship is as large or larger than most Nationals. They would probably still be racing at the 1pm ETA you gave.
