nothings definate. But were talking about track changes. Hopfully for the better, i’ll know more toward this weekend.
bmxer901MemberEht is supposed to start racing 2 weeks before the jackfrost. Good things are supposed to happening in the next month. good things I tell you, it will def be worth the drive for that race.
bmxer901MemberI still have a few sets of tnt hubs from when victor started that im gonna put up for sale. Also im going to put his answer wheelset up for sale soon. He only got like 3 races out of it. Thats got the answer mini hub, ti spokes, and red odyssey mini t 1000 rims. Hands down the absolute best rim you could ever buy for a kid.
bmxer901MemberI know we currently have open classes. We need to make them more interesting in order to boost up the amount of riders. The normal moto count isnt going to change to much. The thing with the open class is that it will let the riders race others at differant ages. We have some of the fastest racers in the country but yet some of them dont want anything to do with the state series. If we try and bring this into maybe it would be apealing to them and bring em back.
bmxer901MemberAnybody that is 16 & up could have raced the pro am and qualified. Look at the ages 11-15 or even 12-15 look at their moto count. Im sure that the parents dont want to spend all that money to get nj1 out of what 2 maybe 3 riders. The only reason why victor has done the state series everyyear is simply becuase hes been nj 1 on both bikes every year but I think 1. Whats th eproblem with giving the kids more comp and prepairing them with what they need to push themselves farther.
bmxer901MemberHow many of our “qualified” pro’s raced the cup this year?
bmxer901MemberI know kuwahara is excalibur’s main sponsor, but still makes you think. Did kuwahara drop upshaw or did they just move him to a differant team?
bmxer901MemberI noticed at VA upshaw didnt have his factory jersey on. He had a excaliber jersey on.
bmxer901Memberno one ever said that should run another series. If the board gives it an ok as a series than just like th epro am parents would be able to volunteer to help organize it and run it. At the least we are looking to be able to have an open and thats it. i know they currently offer an open but no one ever knows about it. i remember the state series used to be big and that was just a few years ago. When we first started there was even t-shirts for the series sold at all the events. The moto count was up the riders were happy. What happened? Maybe it becuase if you look at how many younger riders there are to older riders (15& under/16& over) It favors in the younger group. Now look at how many of those younger riders continue racing once they hit 16. It dramatically drops, not only becuase of the sport itself but also life. Now if theres somthing else in the sport for them things could be differant.
bmxer901MemberThan why does everyone keep saying that nj bmx is about the younger riders and how they are the future of the sport. if their the futur of the sport than do somthing for em instead doing stuff that doesnt affect them.
bmxer901MemberEveryone keeps on bringing up the 16& over open. first its not the same 16& over open as it used to be. Now its a series and theres sponsors and alot more money involved. Therefore that means more work. All we wanna do is start a 15 & under open, a series if possible but we have to start somewhere. I already did some research and found the CA, FL and even COLORADO does an open that is sort of like this. Canada even has a 15& under open series that runs with their national series. It can be done and theres alot of people out there that are interested in this. So again why should nj be all about the older riders?
bmxer901MemberI was thinking pro section. But as alot of people have said in the past we dont have enough pros to have a pro section at any of our tracks. If the track were to have a pro section you would get a larger caliber national. Now would the track be fenced in or would it be open for all to ride during the day like eht. If its fenced in have dirt jumps going down the middle and hold contest during the races to make it an event instead of just a race.
bmxer901MemberVictor ran a animal in the back and went through it in a week. Since november hes been running a irc. 😆 , and still no problems. Thats on his ltf, who would have thought that a spungy race tire would work out to be a good street tire.
bmxer901MemberI just noticed what rich said about the cost of the 16& over open. Ok the 15& under crowd that race will be most likly racing class as well, so thats no prob. Now the part that has me thinking is the reason why th epro open cost as much as it does. Since these riders are under 16 they can not technically accept money. So with that beeing said the cost to do the race could be lowered to $15 maybe even $10. With it beeing at that cost there should be no reason for a good turn out. Then just have year end awards for the top riders in the class and maybe gift certificates or savings bonds. As for the race awards they can be medals or somthing. medals are cheap enough.
This is a chance to try and bring back the excitment that is no longer there for the little kids. When you go to a big race the younger croud doesnt only look up to pros but somtimes even kids that are their age as well. Why no matter what you do does it have to depend on your age. What happened to the sport beeing about the kids.bmxer901MemberLook at how small the rider count is for the younger riders. They want more out of racing. if theres nothing there than there going to get tired of it. Yes there a 16& over open but at what age do the kids get tired of watching it and want to start beeing a part of one. The kids are the future plan and simple so why not give them a taste of what its like before they reach it.
