Working ones ass off all day at a job but still making time to get out and do some riding. Whether it is training, jumping curbs or just getting to the track once a week.No bums here… 😉

BMX has been made to feel like if you aren’t hitting “lationals” (local nationals….yea I made up a new name, kill me!) then you aren’t really racing….and most aren’t racing…Breton Woods is going strong after like 10 years, just guys having fun.Yea…I gotta say late 82 early 83 is when it felt like racing was HUGE in NJ. I remember the aba being everywhere.
I have to say that freestyle probably had a hand in hurting things, as a lot of guys graduated, didn’t have time to hit 4-6 locals a week to keep up a district plate and just decided to “do their own thing”.isn’t 17-24 Phil’s class?
we must go back to riders meetings before races.
i’m sure Dale will be cool enough to talk to everyone about proper gear and the basic rules to everyone. That’s one thing that I never really say anything about but back in the old days, before every race, the T.O. would have a meeting with all the riders to explain the basic law for the day. Or did some parent bring a lawsuit on njbmx or the nbl because they weren’t explained of “one” rule that might have been left out?Rich wasn’t there two different tracks in millville? I remember one that was almost like it was abandoned that I raced on in like 81-82.

When you’re tied to a train track and there is a big ol #9 freighter coming your way….sometimes it’s hard to avoid it..
I can’t believe everyone has been letting the uci and nbl get away with this.< wishes he had been wearing knee pads instead of motorcycle racing pants during his 2 crashes at CJ.

ya know what, now that I’ve thought about this. Rich is right this garbage is never gonna end. Then it becomes, ok, ABA. Did anyone see the UCE release for next years races? ALL nbl. So, no doubt they aba will do their “fake worlds” again.
But what makes it fake? I mean you get to the race, you win the race, you’re “world champion”
uci…you “qualify to the race”, don’t ask me why as all that qualification means NOTHING on the day of the world championship other than putting coin in the uci and nbl pocket. So, anyway, you are at the “real” worlds, you win that one race, you’re “world champion”.
Anyway, to the point.
The people in charge of these BMX sanctions have got to be people who wake up every freaking morning and ask themselves, how can I make BMX better and bigger than freaking ever. If you aren’t then why do it?
I fully support njbmx, ’cause I know you guys will listen to us and will work to get things going. Does anyone ANYWHERE else listen to the people who actually race, ride and rode?
Shouldn’t you just be automatically wanting to hire a person with business experience, 30+ years in BMX and is a great spokesperson? (I speak of Greg) to coin an old valley girl phrase….it’s like DUH.
