February 1, 2007 at 10:40 pm #39267bmxmom156Memberbill i have to ask you how safe is the wireless system? i have heard stories of people who can tap into your system( dont ask me how) is it safe to use a credit card on wireless?
i know i know i am so behind the times and not pc techy but we were thinking of getting it when the construction is done but i worry about someone stealing info and all that…
any thoughts from anyone who has it??
February 1, 2007 at 10:44 pm #39269bmiddaughMemberits all safe.

passwords and encryption are a good thing.

February 1, 2007 at 10:45 pm #39270bmiddaughMemberEver give your credit card to that gas station attendant?

I think adam knows a lot of shit too.February 1, 2007 at 10:52 pm #39271RaidenHaydenMemberDeb, it’s real safe. If someone in the neighberhood wants to use my wireless, just park next to the house.
February 2, 2007 at 12:48 pm #39288bmxmom156Memberthats what i heard that ppl can just park next to your house and hook up to your pc..how is that done anyway?? i thouight it was just them being paranoid…
i have heard good and bad but anyone who wants to post the pros/cons of wireless vs hardwire i would greatly appreciate it. we put cable hookups in almost every room just in case while the walls were open but i kinda like the idea of not having to wire the whole house…
any thoughts or suggestions? thanks
February 2, 2007 at 12:53 pm #39289bmiddaughMemberthey can hook up to the internet, not your pc.
unless you have some folders shared and allow access to everyone.hmmm, it’s sorta like renting an apartment that’s attached to your house, but not giving someone the key to get in the main house…
does that make some sense?February 2, 2007 at 4:46 pm #39298bmxmom156Memberso you mean they can get into your garage but they dont share your bathroom??
lol
February 2, 2007 at 6:09 pm #39301bmiddaughMemberdamn thats a pretty good analogy.
You never got back to me on having your own forum here Debbie.February 2, 2007 at 7:26 pm #39302pjtaftMemberIf you have a Wi-fi , and have it setup correctly,.. they can’t do anything but see that the garbage cans are there. I have Wi-fi setup,. they’d have to figure out 3-4 different sets of information including 2 different sets of password to get anywhere..
you can park next to my house,.. all you’ll get is denied!
