I wanted to know if I were to shave all the hair on my body if I will get more pull down the first straight? This has been on my mind for some time and I would welcome some advice from you all if that’s cool..
Peace
July 7, 2006 at 10:37 am #32316BIGANT-DOGMemberI shave certain parts of my body to reduce weight. Gives me alot more pull 😆 😆 😆
July 7, 2006 at 10:37 am #32317RaidenHaydenMemberGreg, if this has been on your mind for some time, YOU NEED A HOBBY. I’m a roadie, and I don’t shave, I just look like Big-Foot racing around on a bike LOL
July 7, 2006 at 10:38 am #32318BIGANT-DOGMembergreg you are joking right?
July 7, 2006 at 12:17 pm #32320bmiddaughMemberAlthough Ant had the best answer…LOL…
A 1% reduction in body hair translates to a 15% reduction in rotating mass, think follicles to spoke nipples.
Since my gal Christine dared me to shave my pitts, I have noticed a 25% reduction in my gate flippage due to less forward pushing mass. Less weight extending over the bars leads to a more balanced gate start…
or not…. 😆July 7, 2006 at 1:11 pm #32323CrazyCraigMember@BIGANT-DOG wrote:

Bazoing!July 7, 2006 at 2:20 pm #32333Craigmeur77MemberC’mon guys, I think Greg was asking a serious question here and I happen to know a little about this topic. The act of shaving your entire body is quite a shock to the system and triggers the “fight or flight response.” Whether or not this increases your first straight pull depends upon whether your brain chooses to respond with “fight” or “flight.” If it chooses the “flight” response then yes, shaving your entire body will certainly increase your first straight pull as your brain is telling your body to haul arse. If however, it chooses the “fight” response you’ll be overly aggressive, intentionally taking everyone out and will likely be disqualified. So you see, Greg, shaving your entire body can be risky and carries only a 50% chance of increasing your first straight pull. Let us know what you choose.
