Who do you think would win? With both riders at their prime. Bubba now and pistol in 86? For all the kids pistol pete loncarevich.
Tracks may be harder today, but my money is on Pistol

Unclipped: Pistol Pete, no contest.
But, hard to compare, because its two different eras.
If you took Bubba, unclipped him, and could transport him back in time to a Pro main in 86, he’d get crushed. Today’s style of racing is different.
If you bring Pete from 86 to a Pro Main now, and clip him in, he’d have to contend with the more technical tracks. He might not get crushed, but hard to pull the same types of moves from BITD.
But, we’ll never know. will we?
Mike King had more of a modern riding style back then and did well on the technical tracks. I think he and Bubba are on more of a comparison level. Pete had the power.
