I used my Torker in 79 and early 80 so I’m not sure when this photo is taken. I know it was winter cause of the jacket and remember snow on the ground so its probably early 80 like Jan or Feb.
Winter of 79/80, Washington Crossing PA
Note the jump was made out of a tree stump we placed at the bottom of the driveway. I forget name of the kid whose house this was taken at, he was our paper boy, rode, but didnt race. He did make a race stem in metal shop. The jump was made from turning two pallets upside down. 1 for the transition and one for the lip. The landing was flat ground but it was slightly sloped.
Man original Oakley goggles. Gold spokes with blue rims and hubs. I got the idea for the build from the Everything Bicycles advertisement. I got the Torker from Wheels-n-things. Vinyl Pads, front brakes. Man those where the days. Eat, sleep and breathe BMX.
