I was watching transit 6 tonight while I was pedaling and noticed the roosts coming off the pros bikes whilst blazing through turns.
think that dirt berms just look damn cooler…
I miss those old roosting shot days, and it would be very nice in advertisements for BMX.
Yea…I mean, I understand maintenance….. but roosts man….
I remember a Bob Osborne shot in 82 or so where he pans this guys blazing through a berm and this roost is just kicking up behind the dude and it just said….BMX is fast as hell.
Just rambling..sorry…November 2, 2006 at 7:12 pm #35994kevhMemberI think dirt is better, but fixing it is such a pain.

November 3, 2006 at 1:50 am #36021BIGANT-DOGMemberI never raced BITD like you guys, but all of our “tracks” had tabletops and dirt berms.
November 3, 2006 at 2:55 am #36026ErickWeinstetterMemberIs that Justin Shepard for CW?
I know one guy thats had enough whining about what BMX has become and is starting a sanction to return BMX to its roots. http://www.bmxl.org
I’m putting together a proposal for a BMX legend if he approves we are then meeting with an investor. If the Investor comes onboard we are going to apporach a Media group to put on a TV event under BMXL.
If all that fails Im still gonna try to get this going as a grass roots and buy some land in North Carolina and start a track and go from there. Any help or input is appreciated by using our forums.

November 3, 2006 at 2:05 pm #36034jaylamoonMemberPerhaps basketball should go back to wooden baskets, or tennis should go back to being played with your hands instead of a racket…all sports have evolved…I remember going to Trumbull CT and seeing paved berms for the firstime! I was SO excited when Les pushed to get them at EHT!! As for clips, I wish they had them bitd, I wouldn’t have to have had walked through the halls of high school with bleeding calves under my skirt…instead maybe wrapped in a full body cast. Still, that would’ve been way more cool…
