i know its gonna seem really stupid,

but ive been fighting with my chain on my race bike forever now, i have this tight spot that wont go away, everytime i get it looser on one side it switches to the other and vice versa, how do i stop that from happening?

First take your chain off the front sprocket and spin your cranks. Look to see if the sprocket is not going up and down. If it spins clean with no high spots I would buy a new chain.

This problem used to occur with old freewheels… are you running a cassette?

Another prob that i just recently had was that the teeth were getting wider from the presurre that the chain puts onit on a start I guess, and it caused a high spot too, so I had to get a new sprocket !! the chain was fine

i say take your bike apart… put it back together slowly.. if you need to…buy new parts..no pegs will do your bike wonders
